Cashel Dennehy School of Irish Dance Ranks Best in the Midwest!

Cashel Dennehy School of Irish Dance recently competed at the Midwest Regional Irish Dance Championships (Oireachtas) in Columbus, Ohio. Cashel Dennehy Ceili teams brought home five 1st place medals, winning the most of any school in the Midwest Region. Teams that won their competitions are U10 Girls (blue), U12 Mixed (green), U15 Girls (green), U15 Mixed, and U15 Choreography. These teams are now qualified to compete at the World Championships of Irish Dance which will be held at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, Scotland from March 28 thru April 4, 2010. The school also had great success with 7 other Ceili teams receiving medals in 2nd thru 11th place in their respective age groups.

Ten Cashel Dennehy soloists will be headed for the World Championships of Irish Dance by qualifying at the top of their competitions, those dancers include; Dan Medora, Shorewood; Avery Emerson, Cedarburg; Bridget MacKenzie and Gabi Caron-Schuler, Wauwatosa, Alex Johnson, Pewaukee; Alyssa and Colette Harling of Grays Lake IL, Natalie Rondinelli, Carly and Abby Reynolds, of Whitefish Bay.

 

The following dancers also received medals by qualifying in the top half of their competitions: Kathleen Jorgensen, Milwaukee; Allison Wall, Mackenzie Bryant and Kjersten Pederson of Wauwatosa; Kate Abbott of Fort Atkinson; Mary Beth and Sarah Jablonowski, Glendale

Molly Cowen, Mequon; Katie Powers, Franklin; Finola and Brigid Hughes, Brookfield; Kiley Schmitz, Cudahy; Mackenzie McElduff, Whitefish Bay, Delaney O’Neill, Shorewood

Suzy O’Meara, Mattie Kantor, Bridget Thompson and Sarah Wood of Madison, and Sophie Steigerwald, Elm Grove,
