Music Lessons Studio Grand Opening! WLM to offer Piano, Guitar, Summer Classes and more.

May 25, 2010 | 0 comments

Wind Lake Music opened its door for lessons in April of 2010. It is a new business in Wind Lake, available to serve students in Muskego, Waterford, and Franklin communities. Currently teachers are available to teach guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), piano, beginning voice, and French horn lessons. Lessons range in price from $15-$20 per half hour. Students of any age are welcome.

In addition to lessons, the following beginning level summer music classes are available: Songwriting, Music Theory, and Rock Lab 101 (a class in which young “rock” musicians learn how to play in a rock band format). Classes are geared towards middle and high school ages.

All teachers live and/or work in the Wind Lake area. Owner and piano/voice/French horn teacher Allison Berndt has been the contemporary music director at Norway Lutheran church in Wind Lake for over three years. She has been teaching piano in the area for over a year, and has also been working with Norway Lutheran’s Children’s Choir. She has a degree is music from Valparaiso University (‘05) and will be completing her Master of Church Music from Concordia University in Mequon later this fall.

Barb Bruce, acoustic guitarist, lives and is from the Wind Lake area. She took piano lessons in middle school through high school and has a keen grasp on music theory. In college (Luther College, Iowa) Barb began learning acoustic guitar. She led many campfires and youth church services in that time. Since college, Barb has become involved at Norway Lutheran Church as part of their praise band.

Jasen Kinart, also originally from the Wind Lake area, is an electric guitar player that also works with bass guitar. He was a member of the Bay Lane Middle and Muskego High School Choirs, a rare three year member of the elite Muskego High School Chamber Choir, and a Vice President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. As an adult, he has honed his performance skills performing with several recording and touring artists, and can regularly be found performing with his band Slo-Fi at Summerfest and other prominent music events.

Wind Lake Music’s Grand Opening will be held on Sunday, June 13th from 2:30-5:30. There will be food and drinks provided – stop by to meet the teachers and learn about the studio! Donations will also be taken for the Muskego Food Pantry at the event.
