WDA Smile Contest winners dazzle judges at State Fair

More than 100 youngsters, newborn to 16 years old, displayed their pearly whites at the 23rd annual Wisconsin Dental Association Smile Contest on Aug. 13 at the Wisconsin State Fair presented by U.S. Cellular.

 

First, second and third-place prizes were awarded in seven age categories and a “tin grin” competition for those wearing braces. Winners and their hometowns (communities outside Wisconsin noted) are:

 

Newborn – 2 years: First place – Marian Bullard of Chippewa Falls; second place – MaryJean Duffy of Oconomowoc; third place – Levi Oudenhoven of Watertown

 

3 – 4 years: First place – Sophia Handrich of New Berlin; second place – Michael Kirchhoff of Union, Ill.; third place – Savannah McNello of Waukesha

 

5 – 6 years: First place – Kaylie Pasternak of Mount Prospect, Ill.; second place – Ben Conley of Grayslake, Ill.; third place – Annie Carrillo of Franksville

 

7 – 8 years: First place – Jill Wachter of Franklin; second place – Chloe Handrich of New Berlin; third place – Jordan McNello of Waukesha

 

9 – 10 years: First place – Cathryn Kandel of Hubertus; second place – Tillie Pasternak of Mount Prospect, Ill.; third place – Hannah Rozinski of Kenosha

 

11 – 13 years: First place – Brenna Lewandowski of Muskego; second place – Morgan Anderson of Oconomowoc; third place – Austin Brandt of Sussex

 

14 – 16 years: First place – Haley Francione of Waukesha; second place – Madison McCollum of Kenosha; third place – Evan Warwick of Muskego

 

Tin grin category: First place – Cheyanna Blunt of Racine; second place – Wynonna Blunt of Racine; third place – Logan Ohm of Dousman

 

All contestants received a collection of personal oral health care products and educational items made possible through generous donations and financial support from D&S Dental Lab Inc., Patterson Dental Supply, Procter & Gamble/Crest, Saber Dental Studio, WDA Insurance & Services Corp., WDA Foundation and the WDA.
