Cousins Subs today announced that, to celebrate the opening of its new Franklin store, it will partner with the Franklin Public Library to collect entertainment, personal and food items for Wisconsin service members and other U.S. troops serving around the world. Donations for the library’s ‘Books for Soldiers’ program will be accepted at the new Cousins, 7700 S. Lovers Lane in the Shoppes of Wyndham Village, throughout the grand opening celebration May 7-9.
Anyone donating three or more items will receive a certificate for a free 7 1/2” sub. Needed care package items include mystery, science fiction, thriller/horror and suspense novels, as well as books about military leaders; personal care items including 2-4 oz. containers of shampoo, lotion, sunscreen and toothpaste; and food items such as protein bars and tuna and chicken in foil packages, not cans. A complete list of items is available on the Franklin Public Library Web site at www.mcfls.org/franklin/soldiers.htm.
“Cousins Subs has a long history of being an involved corporate citizen, and we thought supporting the Franklin Public Library’s project would be a great way to celebrate the opening of our new restaurant here,” said Mark Beierle, owner of the Franklin store. “We are honored to have this opportunity to work with our Franklin neighbors on this important community effort and to help support our military men and women around the world.”
Other grand opening activities include special deals on subs, a radio remote, and giveaways for guests.
