It was a frustrating two days for the Sabers in the New Berlin Holiday Classic last week as they competed well but had nothing to show for their efforts as they lost to both Manitowoc (57-49) and New Berlin Eisenhower (55-52).
The Sabers (3-0 in Southeast play and 4-5 overall) took on Muskego (0-3, 1-8) on Tuesday and now will host Racine Park (3-0, 8-1) in a first-place showdown at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6.
Franklin will look to finish games unlike what happened at New Berlin. Against Eisenhower, the Sabers were ahead 21-20 at the break but were behind 42-38 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Sabers had a 31-25 halftime lead on Manitowoc in their first game but the Ships rallied to take a 39-38 advantage into the final stanza and then slowly pulled away. Kanugh and Ksobiech had 10 points apiece while Danny Kingstad contributed eight.
