Greendale's Campbell earns co-MVP in soccer

Kinsey Campbell of Greendale was named the co-most valuable player in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) in women's soccer.

Campbell is a junior defender for Loras College in Dubuque. She was a key cog to a Loras defense that allowed only four goals to conference competition in the regular season and tournament and only 24 goals overall in 22 games.

The Duhawks held their opponents to an average of 8.82 shots on goal while posting a 1.06 goals-against average during an 18-4 season that included a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Loras lost, 2-1, to Emory University in the Sweet 16 round last weekend.

Campbell started all 22 games and also scored three points on a goal at Luther College and an assist against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

She was also on the IIAC All-Conference Team for the second straight season, and she made the all-region team in 2011.

Campbell's recruiting class posted the most victories over four years in women's soccer in school history.

She graduated from Greendale in 2009 and played varsity soccer for all four seasons.
