Sectionals up next for tennis players

Franklin won the seven-team WIAA tennis subsectional hosted by Greendale on May 26, and advanced players in all seven flights to the upcoming sectional.

The Sabers tallied 22 points to edge the host Panthers by four. Oak Creek and Whitnall were among three teams tied for third with 10 points.

Area players who advanced to the sectional to be held at Brookfield Central at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 28 were:

Franklin: Frankie Giuffre (14-12), Jacob Kossoris (18-8), Evan Bauer (24-3) and Mitch DeMario (5-0) at singles and the doubles teams of Nate Fons/Omar Dakwar (18-6), Brad Heale/CJ Malek (19-4) and Zach Bartels/Kyle Hoffman (21-6).

Greendale: Kyle Goodman (8-9), Andrew Dejna (14-6) and Jackson Zingsheim (14-5) at singles and the doubles teams of Adam Goad/Matt Grieshop (13-5) and Alex Najera/Steve Mares (11-4).

Whitnall: Alex Dundas (12-7) and Andy Krawczyk (15-4) at singles and the doubles team of Ian Dupont/Adam Schepker (16-3).

Oak Creek: the doubles team of Mike Luck/Quinten Brouchoud (10-2).
