Visiting Franklin capitalized on three Greendale turnovers, including a fumble that senior linebacker Nate McCarthy returned 21 yards for a touchdown, to earn a 17-10 victory Friday in the 2011 season opener.
Greendale running back Mike Scheidt broke outside and raced down the left sideline for a 55-yard touchdown to pull the Panthers within seven, but the Sabers prevailed after four straight Greendale incompletions from their own 27-yard-line.
