A resident's name, Social Security number and address were fraudulently used to apply online for a Toys 'R' Us credit card at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 29.
1A black sweatshirt containing a pair of car keys, food from Taco Bell and a Gatorade were stolen out of an employee's cubby at Baptista's Bakery, 4625 W. Oakwood Park Drive, between 1:45 and 4 p.m. Oct. 30. It is believed to have happened during shift change between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m., when about 80 to 100 employees pass through the area.
2Eleven DVDs, a $220 value, were stolen from the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road, between 2 p.m. Oct. 30 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 31.
3A 32-inch flat-screen television, a microwave oven and a queen-sized bedspread were stolen from a room at Sunrise Motel, 9347 S. 27th St., between 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and 10 a.m. Oct. 31. Police are following up with the person who rented the room that evening.
4A 21-year-old Franklin man was arrested for shoplifting $13 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly after 4 p.m. Oct. 30.
5A 41-year-old Franklin man was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly after 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
6A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for receiving stolen property after an officer spotted a stolen plate on the man's Jaguar at Forest Home Avenue and Lovers Lane Road just before 11 a.m. Nov. 1.
7An iPhone was reported stolen from the boys locker room at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 1.
8A battery was stolen from a camper parked in the 7000 block of South 122nd Street prior to 4 p.m. Nov. 1.
9An 18-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:20 p.m. Nov. 1.
10A resident in the 8000 block of South Chapel Hill Drive called police to report his mother, a 40-year-old Franklin woman, stole money from him at 12:20 p.m. Nov. 2. The woman was accused of stealing her son's identity and creating eBay and PayPal accounts in his name, through which she racked up balances of more than $1,788. She also is accused of withdrawing more than $1,200 from his checking accounts. Police are following up.
11A laptop computer and a new pair of dress pants were stolen from the trunk of a car at The Home Depot, 6489 S. 27th St., between 4:30 and 6:15 p.m. Nov. 2.
12A woman reported her purse was stolen at Sam's Club, 6705 S. 27th St., at 1:55 p.m. Nov. 4.
13The rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4100 block of West Thorncrest Drive between Nov. 4 and 7 a.m. Nov. 5.
14A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5100 block of West Rawson Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. Nov. 4. His blood-alcohol content was 0.10.
15A 52-year-old Hales Corners man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for failing to move over for a stopped emergency vehicle in the 7200 block of West Rawson Avenue at 5:10 p.m. Nov. 4. His BAC was 0.11.
16A 36-year-old Franklin woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries to her arm and leg, scratches on her head and neck pain after she struck a vehicle making a left turn into a driveway near College Avenue and 31st Street at 2:48 p.m. Oct. 27. The driver of the turning vehicle, a 27-year-old Franklin man, was cited for failing to yield while entering a driveway (causing injury), driving with a suspended license, and violating child safety restraint laws after two of his passengers, a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old boy, were injured in the accident.
17A 74-year-old Franklin man was taken to the hospital after he struck a UPS truck while he was attempting to make a left turn at Church Street and Scepter Drive at 12:58 p.m. Oct. 29. He was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
18A fanny pack containing a personal check, a set of keys, a Zoo Pass and a debit card was stolen out of a locked vehicle in the 6300 block of South Park Road between 1:30 and 2:09 p.m. Oct. 29. A fraudulent purchase was made on the debit card at a Milwaukee-area Clark station. The front passenger-side window was smashed to gain entry.
19A truck was driven over the road shoulder at 112th Street and Ryan Road between the late evening hours of Oct. 30 and 7 a.m. Oct. 31. It damaged the newly seeded area near the sewer lateral construction. A special watch was requested during the evening hours.
20Political signs were taken down, a banana was put in the mailbox and eggs were thrown at the house in the 11800 block of West Bel Mar Drive between 11 p.m. Nov. 2 and 5:30 a.m. Nov. 3. A special patrol was requested for the area.
21An officer investigating a noise complaint at an apartment in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle cited two 20-year-old women and an 18-year-old woman for underage drinking at 12:55 a.m. Nov. 4.
22Officers responding to a noise complaint in the 6900 block of South Brian Court cited a 52-year-old Franklin man after he was seen grilling in his backyard and playing loud music in his house with the back door wide open, then refused to answer the door and talk to officers at 1:05 a.m. Nov. 5. The man was cited a second time at 1:37 a.m. when he intentionally opened up his front door to bother more neighbors after officers left the area.
23Firefighters and police responded to a report of a large amount of smoke in Grobschmidt Park, 3751 W. College Ave., at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1. A fire was located on a sandbar in the north-central part of the lake and was extinguished. The fire apparently was a small recreational fire that spread to a 40-by 40-foot area.
Franklin police responded to four domestic violence calls and assisted with two rescue calls and one fire call between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.
