BURGLARY

Two bank ledgers and a cash box containing approximately $500 were taken from a residence in the 9300 block of South Cobblestone Way prior to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 30. The victim stated she had just returned from a vacation and found pry marks on her front door and a broken lock on her patio door.

THEFT

A digital media player was taken at Vesta Inc., 5400 W. Franklin Drive, around 7 p.m. Oct. 25.

Two fraudulent credit cards were used to purchase a total of $1,200 in gift cards at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., on Oct. 15 and Oct. 20. The suspects, a male and female, were observed leaving the store in a maroon/silver Mercury Villager minivan on one occasion and a tan Chevy conversion van. According to Walmart, the suspects in this case are part of an organized theft ring out of Florida.

A 61-year-old Franklin resident called to report that the IRS notified him on Oct. 13 that someone else used his Social Security number to file taxes under his name and received a tax refund. The man was given an ID theft packet to fill out and return.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $60 of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly after 5:25 p.m. Oct. 28.

A woman's credit card was used to fraudulently purchase $169 in merchandise after her wallet was taken at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

A 50-year-old man reported his driver's license, debit card, cell phone battery and T-shirt were taken by two women at the El Rancho Motel, 8973 S. 27th St., prior to 5:30 a.m. Oct. 29. The victim told police he met the two suspects, known only as "Angel" and "Crystal," at a "Plenty of Fish" Internet dating website party at Victor's Bar in Milwaukee.

An electronic tablet was taken from a residence in the 4000 block of West Anthony Drive during the evening hours of Oct. 29.

Approximately $75 of gas was siphoned from a truck parked at the Plaza Motel, 8151 S. 27th St., between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 and 8 a.m. Oct. 30.

On Oct. 29, a Franklin alderwoman reported that three "Madison Ave" street signs, a "W Marquette" sign at South 46th Street, a "West Leach Ave" sign and a "Madison Blvd" sign at South 35th Street have been stolen. Police have assigned a special watch to those areas.

A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting after he took merchandise and refused to give it back to store personnel at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:25 p.m. Oct. 30.

Two outboard motors were taken from a barn in the 8600 block of West Loomis Road prior to 9:25 a.m. Oct. 31. A witness told police he saw a suspect loading the motors onto a light-colored white truck. Police are searching for the suspect and vehicle.

Brass was taken from the roof at Indian Community School, 10405 W. St. Martins Road, prior to 11 a.m. Oct. 31. Police have a suspect and are following up.

ASSAULT

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for battery to a police officer while police were attempting to arrest her for shoplifting $104 of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:25 p.m. Oct. 28.

A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody for battery in the 6500 block of South 35th Street at 11:50 a.m. Oct. 31.

A 22-year-old Cudahy woman and a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman were arrested for battery after they struck a resident in the 6300 block of South 27th Street at 1:10 a.m. Nov. 1.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop in the 6900 block of South 27th Street at 9:40 p.m. Oct. 31.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, in the 9300 block of West St. Martins Road at 11:35 p.m. Oct. 26. A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unknown. He was also cited for operating after revocation, deviation from designated lane and possession of drug paraphernalia.

VANDALISM

A brick was thrown through the driver's side window of a vehicle parked at a residence in the 3100 block of West Puetz Road between 3 and 10 a.m. Oct. 26. Damage is estimated at $150.

A caller reported the driver's side mirror of his truck was smashed with a blunt object while it was parked in the 7300 block of South Tifton Drive between 4 and 10 p.m. Oct. 27.

An unknown group of teens smashed the driver's side mirror on a car parked in the 7300 block of South Tipton Drive at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 27, and fled the scene in a smaller S10 pickup truck. Police were unable to locate the suspects.

The driver's side mirror of a two cars were smashed, possibly with a bat, on vehicles parked in the 3800 block of West Madison Boulevard around 10:35 p.m. Oct. 27. A smaller S10 pickup truck was seen fleeing from the scene. Police follow-up is continuing.

A resident reported the rear window of his car was damaged by a pellet gun while it was parked in his driveway in the 9400 block of South 41st Street between 8 p.m. Oct. 28 and 10 a.m. Oct. 29.

A mailbox, pole and a sign were damaged at a residence in the 3200 block of West Links Drive during the early morning hours of Oct. 30.

Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and one rescue call between Oct. 26 and Oct. 31.
