· Police Report: May 6

THEFT

1 A county highway "Dip" sign was stolen from the 7100 block of South North Cape Road at 11 a.m. April 29.

2 A 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $206 in clothing at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., and was also taken into custody for having two outstanding warrants for disorderly conduct through the Oak Creek Police Department and operating after revocation through the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department at about 2:10 p.m. April 29.

3 A 20-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting headphones at Salvation Army, 6341 S. 27th St., at about 2:50 p.m. April 29.

4 A toilet seat, shower head and a vanity mirror were stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of West Central Avenue sometime between 5:30 p.m. April 30 and 4:15 p.m. May 1. The homeowner's son suspects his deceased father's former girlfriend took the items before she was evicted from the residence.

5 A GPS unit, valued at $200, was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle between 10 p.m. April 30 and 6 p.m. May 1.

6 A resident who called police to report his 2011 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen in the 4600 block of West Minnesota Avenue was arrested after police discovered he had an outstanding traffic warrant through the Greenfield Police Department at 3:15 a.m. May 1. The motorcycle was apparently stolen by the caller's ex-girlfriend.

7 A 19-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting four DVDs, valued at $64, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 4:30 p.m. May 1.

8 A 54-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting a mountain bike, a battery charger and an aquarium starter kit, valued at $250, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 6:30 p.m. May 1. The suspect stole the items on April 30, and was arrested when he returned to the store the next day.

9 A personal checkbook, a GPS unit, a smartphone and a phone charger were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle between 9:30 p.m. May 1 and noon May 2.

10 A smartphone was stolen after it was left in a bathroom at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., sometime between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. May 2.

11 A 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were arrested for operating a vehicle without the owner's consent after they stole the boy's father's 2004 Chevy Silverado in the 7100 block of South 47th Place sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. May 2. Police located the vehicle on South 76th Street and Imperial Drive at about 2 p.m., where they took both teens into custody. The boy was also cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license.

12 An unidentified man shoplifted two packs of cigarettes at 7-Eleven, 7610 W. Rawson Ave., and then fled in a green Ford with dealer plates at about 7 p.m. May 2. The man was described as a black male in his late 20s with short hair and wearing a black sweater.

13 A 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for receiving stolen property after police discovered he had a stolen license plate on his vehicle parked at American Motel, 9335 S. 27th St., at 1:20 a.m. May 3.

14 A 31-year-old New Hampshire woman was arrested for shoplifting sexual aids and condoms at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 3:15 p.m. May 3.

15 A 30-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting $131 worth of baby clothes at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5 p.m. May 3.

16 A 21-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were arrested for shoplifting $176 worth of cosmetics at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 9:15 p.m. May 3.

ASSAULT

17 A 27-year-old Racine man was arrested for battery after he punched a 26-year-old man in the face, causing him to suffer a broken jaw and possible facial fractures at a residence in the 6300 block of South 27th Street at about 4 a.m. May 4.

DRUG POSSESSION

18 A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and was cited for operating after suspension at the Park Motel, 7273 S. 27th St., at about 12:40 a.m. April 30. The responding officers also arrested a 20-year-old Milwaukee man for violating a restraining order/domestic abuse injunction and bail jumping.

19 A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at the Sunrise Motel, 9347 S. 27th St., at about 2:20 a.m. May 2.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

20 A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for operating after suspension in the 8000 block of South 27th Street at about 3:25 a.m. May 4. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.10.

FIRE

21 Police and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 10300 block of West Steeple View Lane at about 4:15 p.m. April 30. The caller told police he was working on a van when he put gas directly into the carburetor and then started up the vehicle, causing it to backfire and start on fire. The caller was able to put out the fire using a pressure washer before emergency responders arrived.

OTHER

22 A property owner was bitten by a white pit bull that belongs to one of his tenants in the 3300 block of West College Avenue at about 5 p.m. April 25. The victim told police he had advised the tenant to remove the dog from the premises, but it was still there.

· Five residents reported an unknown subject used their identity and Social Security number to file fraudulent 2013 tax returns between April 28 and May 5.

· Franklin police assisted with one rescue call and one fire call between April 28 and May 5.

23 Two male students were cited for a weapons violation after bringing knives onto school property at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., at 10:15 a.m. April 30.

24 A resident in the 8200 block of South 44th Street reported her dog was taken by a coyote at about 12:30 a.m. May 5. The caller stated she let her dog out and watched it go behind a tree when she saw a large animal run through her backyard, and now her dog is missing. The dog, "Princess," is described as a six-pound white female, mixed-breed dog wearing a pink collar with three tags.
