Police Report: Jan. 15

BURGLARY

1A locked home was forcibly entered in the 6800 block of South Harvard Drive between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Jan. 11. A back patio door was broken to gain entry, and the garage door was standing open when the owners got home, making it the apparent means of leaving the home. The resident was unsure if anything was stolen from inside the residence, and police are following up.

THEFT

2A 17-year-old Franklin boy was arrested for stealing money from a student's wallet in the locker room during a gym class at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., Jan. 7. The theft occurred the morning of Jan. 4, but the boy didn't admit stealing the money until 12:45 p.m. Jan. 7.

3A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting a socket at Menard's, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 7.

4Four 17-inch hubcaps, a value of $140, were stolen off a 2002 Ford Econoline van while it was parked in the 7500 block of South Nottingham Way between 4 p.m. Jan. 7 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 8.

5Two Milwaukee women, 26 and 28, were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing baby formula in multiple bags at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 5:50 p.m. Jan. 7.

6About $1,600 worth of electrical wire and supplies were stolen off two snow guns at The Rock Sports Complex, 7900 W. Crystal Ridge Drive, between Jan. 7 and Jan. 13.

7A purse containing three Social Security cards, $50 and other personal items was stolen out of a locked van at Whitnall Golf Course, 6701 S. Park Road, between 7 and 7:40 p.m. Jan. 8. A window was broken to gain entry to the vehicle.

8Twelve copper ground wires were stolen at the St. Martins substation, 7881 S. 116th St., prior to 2 p.m. Jan. 9. A four-foot by four-foot hole was cut in a chain link perimeter fence to gain access to the building.

9A 26-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for shoplifting $640 worth of DVD boxed sets at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 9.

10The driver of an older model blue Toyota or Lexus left without paying for $18 worth of gas at Andy's, 5120 W. Ryan Road, about 6 p.m. Jan. 9.

11A black Harley-Davidson wallet containing three ATM cards, a Social Security card, personal identification and a medical card was stolen from a truck parked at Planet Fitness, 6529 S. 27th St., between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 9. The truck was left unsecured because the locks didn't work.

12A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting a cellphone cover at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10.

13A 22-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman, all of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen shoving clothing down their pants and into a purse belonging to one of the women at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 8:12 p.m. Jan. 11. The trio exited the store through the grocery section, and one of the women struck an employee who attempted to detain them. They were pulled over in the 2600 block of West Sycamore Street, where they were taken into custody.

14A remote car opener and a license registration receipt were stolen from the glove box of a car parked at Sam's Wholesale Club, 6705 S. 27th St., prior to 11:50 a.m. Jan. 12.

15Two unidentified men stole an iPad from a man at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:26 p.m. Jan. 13. The men, described as two white males between the ages of 20 and 30 and wearing dark coats and jeans, can be seen on video surveillance footage taking the iPad before leaving the store in a silver- or cream-colored Lincoln or Cadillac.

ACCIDENTS

16A 44-year-old Oak Creek man was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries after his car was struck by a southbound vehicle as he pulled out of the parking lot at the Hideaway Pub, 9643 S. 76th St., about 6:15 pm. Jan. 11. He was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way. The driver of the other vehicle, a 59-year-old Florida man, was not injured.

VANDALISM

17A "no trespassing" sign at the Indian Community School, 10405 W. St. Martins Road, was damaged by someone using a pellet or BB gun between Jan. 7 and Jan. 10.

OTHER

18A Fox Point man called Franklin police at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11 to report that he had been scammed out of $145,000 at Bank Mutual, 5170 W. Rawson Ave. Officers are investigating.

Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with two rescue calls between Jan. 7 and Jan. 14.
