BURGLARY

A 32-year-old Franklin man was arrested for receiving stolen property after police found a stolen carpet cleaner and toolbox in his possession in the 6300 block of South 35th Street at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 22. The items had been reported stolen from a storage locker at 1:15 p.m. the same day. Two air-conditioning units also were taken from the locker but they have not been found.

THEFT

An owner of a group home in the 7800 block of South 68th Street reported that $455 was stolen from a cashbox kept in a locked kitchen cabinet between 1 p.m. Dec. 21 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 24.

A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting and for a probation/parole violation at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., about 2 p.m. Dec. 21. He fled was apprehended in the parking lot of Planet Fitness.

A 30-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at Menard's, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 1:40 p.m. Dec. 23.

A 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing bottles of perfume at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 23.

A purse containing several credit cards, $20, a driver's license and cologne was stolen from a locked van at Whitnall Park Golf Course, 6701 S. Park Road, and a credit card was used to purchase $459 worth of merchandise from Walgreens in Greenfield between 4 and 4:20 p.m. Dec. 23. A window was smashed to gain entry. Police have descriptions of the thieves and are investigating.

Two girls, ages 16 and 15, were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 23.

A purse containing three credit cards and a cellphone was stolen from a shopping cart at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., prior to 7 p.m. Dec. 23.

A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for theft at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 26, after he stole his ex-wife's garage door opener out of her car in the 4000 block of West College Avenue.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting two shirts at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 26.

ASSAULT

A 21-year-old Milwaukee man arrested for battery and carrying a concealed weapon after he punched a 43-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman in the face at a home in the 10900 block of West Ryan Road at 1:23 a.m. Dec. 23. The man left in a car driven by a 43-year-old Cudahy woman, who was arrested for drunken driving. She was taken for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

DRUG POSSESSION

An 18-year-old Franklin man was arrested for possession of marijuana and cited for driving with a suspended license in the 6800 block of South 27th Street at 9:45 p.m. Dec. 22.

Officers responding to a report of numerous drinking parties and a male urinating in a residential driveway arrested an 18-year-old Greenfield woman and an 18-year-old Hales Corners woman for possession of marijuana and underage drinking in the 6500 block of South Whitnall Edge Road at 2 a.m. Dec. 23.

ACCIDENTS

A 60-year-old Franklin man was found dead after his car left the road just south of Highway 100 and Drexel Avenue and crashed into a clump of trees at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 21. The man was found slumped over his steering wheel with the car engine running and was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears a possible medical condition might have been responsible for the driver's death.

VANDALISM

A mailbox was knocked off its post in the 4300 block of West Madison Boulevard about 2:45 a.m. Dec. 23.

Gang graffiti was found on the west side of Blockbuster and a dentist office in the 7200 block of South 76th Street at 6:15 a.m. Dec. 25.

A mailbox was broken off its post and two other mailboxes were damaged in the 5100 block of West Harvard Drive between 9 p.m. Dec. 26 and 7:55 a.m. Dec. 27.

A barn window was broken and pry marks were left on a door frame during an attempted break-in at Canterville Stables, 11052 S. 76th St., prior to 3 p.m. Dec. 27. No one got inside. Damage to the barn is estimated at $100.

OTHER

Franklin police assisted with three rescue calls between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she became confrontational, called the store manager names and yelled in her face at Verizon Wireless, 6531 S. 27th St., at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 22.

A 23-year-old man who was taken to the hospital by some good Samaritans after they found him unresponsive and lying in a snow bank was arrested at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, 10101 S. 27th St., after police discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 23.
