Police Report: Aug. 21

1A resident in the 3600 block of West College Avenue called police to report the theft of two gold and diamond rings and four necklaces from a jewelry box in her bedroom. The victim told police the theft occurred between mid-July and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 19.

2Dual enclosure 12-inch subwoofers and an amplifier were stolen out of a vehicle's unlocked trunk in the 4600 block of West Anita Lane between 4 p.m. Aug. 12 and 11:15 a.m. Aug. 15.

3A 48-year-old woman, a 31-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman, all of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 15. A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on a Greenfield Police Department warrant.

4A driver left without paying for $53 worth of gas at Andy's, 5120 W. Ryan Road, at 4:18 p.m. Aug. 16.

5A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting and vandalism after he cut open numerous packages with a pocketknife and concealed merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:10 p.m. Aug. 16.

6An iPhone was stolen out of a backpack at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Aug. 16.

7A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7100 block of South 49th Street between 8 p.m. Aug. 16 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 17.

8A GPS unit and a cellphone car charger were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7100 block of South 49th Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 16 and 4:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

9A Global Positioning System was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 7200 block of South 49th Street between the evening hours of Aug. 16 and noon Aug. 17.

10A purse containing credit cards, checks, cash and car keys was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4800 block of West Minnesota Avenue between 1:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17.

11A portable DVD player and $10 were stolen from an unlocked van in the 7100 block of South 47th Place between midnight and 9 a.m. Aug. 18.

12A 23-year-old Big Bend woman was arrested for felony theft after she shoplifted movies and other items totaling $2,033 at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:05 p.m. Aug. 18.

13A 44-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing items at Goodwill Industries, 6941 S. Riverwood Blvd., shortly before 6 p.m. Aug. 18.

14Two people left without paying for a $60 dinner bill at Chili's Grill & Bar, 6439 S. 27th St., at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 18.

15A 25-year-old Greenfield woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walgreens, 7130 S. 76th St., at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19. She also was arrested on a Greenfield Police Department warrant for shoplifting.

16Three Yu-Gi-Oh! playing cards, valued at $90, and $415 cash were reported stolen in the 4500 block of West Hilltop Lane at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 19. The victim stated the theft occurred between 3 p.m. Aug. 16 and 1 p.m. Aug. 19. There are several possible suspects.


17A 16-year-old boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and underage drinking at an apartment building in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle at 12:35 a.m. Aug. 15. An 18-year-old woman, two 16-year-old girls and two 16-year-old boys also were cited for underage drinking.

18A 36-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for possession of marijuana at the Park Motel, 7273 S. 27th St., at 1:35 a.m. Aug. 15.


19A 42-year-old Racine man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for unsafe lane deviation in the 9300 block of South 27th Street at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 19. His blood-alcohol content was 0.13.


20A 49-year-old Milwaukee man, a 39-year-old Oak Creek woman and a 35-year-old Oak Creek man were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries after a six-car accident at 27th Street and Rawson Avenue shortly before noon Aug. 4. The accident occurred when a speeding car rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a traffic light on 27th Street, which caused a chain-reaction crash with four other vehicles also stopped for the light. The Milwaukee man was cited for speeding, following too closely, disregarding a traffic signal and failure to have control of a vehicle.

21A 50-year-old Shorewood man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries when he was ejected from his motorcycle after it left the roadway at 76th Street and Drexel Avenue at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 8. The man stated his front tire hit an uneven area and his bike was thrown sideways.


22Two mailboxes were knocked over in the 12200 block of West Somerset Drive between 10 p.m. Aug. 14 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 15.

23A mailbox was smashed in the 3400 block of West Villa Drive prior to 7:55 p.m. Aug. 15.

24A front screen door was damaged by a BB or pellet in the 6600 block of South 121st Street between 11 p.m. Aug. 16 and midnight Aug. 17.

25Several mailboxes were damaged in the 7200 block of South 37th Street between the late evening hours of Aug. 16 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

26An ATV drove over a property at 76th Street and Ryan Road about 5 p.m. Aug. 17, causing damage.


27A 50-year-old man was cited for resisting arrest after he failed to comply with police during a warrant arrest at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road, at 9:40 a.m. Aug. 14.

28A 38-year-old Franklin man was cited for disorderly conduct after he drove into a neighbor's driveway, yelled obscenities and caused a disturbance in the 4800 block of West Alesci Drive at 7 p.m. Aug. 14. The man apparently was upset because the neighbor had told his children to stay off her property.

29Two dogs got loose, attacked a leashed dog and almost attacked three young girls near Friendship Park in the 8200 block of South 36th Street at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 15. An officer who responded to the scene was bitten twice by one of the loose dogs, but the bites did not break his skin. The officer pepper-sprayed the dogs to subdue them. Police are following up with the owner of the dogs, who lives in the 8300 block of South 36th Street, and will be issuing citations for having dog at large and harboring/owning a vicious dog.

30A 49-year-old Franklin woman was cited for having a dog at large and harboring a vicious animal after her dog got loose and cornered a neighbor in the 6300 block of South 27th Street at 5:40 p.m. Aug. 15.

Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with two rescue calls between Aug. 14 and Aug. 20.
