1A $500 gold and ruby ring and $150 cash were stolen from a jewelry box at a residence in the 8300 block of South 35th Street between 10 a.m. Aug. 4 and 6 p.m. Aug. 7. Police have a possible suspect and are following up.

3A man's wallet was stolen at Country Lanes, 11231 W. Forest Home Ave., on Aug. 6. The victim also told police several fraudulent charges were made on his credit card after the theft.
4The driver of a light-colored minivan left without paying for $53 of gas at Mobil Gas Station II, 7103 S. 27th St., shortly before 2:30 p.m. Aug. 6. The suspect vehicle was last seen driving southbound on South 27th Street.
5A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting $70 of bedding at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 7.
6An Alpine stereo, valued at $150, was stolen from an unlocked truck parked at Highway 100 & Loomis Road Auto Sales, 9923 W. St. Martins Road, between 5:19 and 5:23 p.m. Aug. 7.
7An unknown female passed a fraudulent check to purchase $165 worth of items at Pick 'n Save, 7780 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 7:20 p.m. Aug. 7. The suspect is described as a black female, about 40 to 49 years old.
8An unknown male tried to pass a fraudulent check to purchase $186 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 7780 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 7:25 p.m. Aug. 7. The suspect, a black male aged 40-49, took back the check after employees became suspicious, and then left the store without the merchandise. The same suspects are suspected of committing similar thefts in Oak Creek, West Allis and Mount Pleasant.
9A resident in the 6800 block of South 35th Street called police to report an envelope containing $350 was stolen from a purse sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8. The victim said she had been to other locations and was unsure where the theft occurred.
10A 26-year-old Alabama man was arrested for shoplifting $309 worth of drill parts at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 1:05 p.m. Aug. 8.
11A resident in the 9400 block of South 96th Street reported the theft of two newspapers at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 10. The resident said the newspapers were stolen on Aug. 9 and Aug. 10.
12A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting a watch at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:35 p.m. Aug. 10.
13A 27-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting an energy drink at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly before 7 p.m. Aug. 10.
14Two 18-year-old men, two 16-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl, all of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 8:55 p.m. Aug. 10.
15Two 18-year-old Milwaukee men were arrested for stealing money, a cellphone and an iPod from a car parked at Toppers Pizza, 2842 W. Rawson Ave., at 1:25 a.m. Aug. 11. The two suspects had been arrested and cited for shoplifting at the Franklin Walmart a few hours before this incident.
16A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting multiple items at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 11.
17An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting $90 of collector cards at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 11.
18A realtor reported that copper piping was stolen from a house that is for sale in the 6900 block of South Lovers Lane Road at 2 p.m. Aug. 12.
19A 63-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting dimmer switches, valued at $52, at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 10 a.m. Aug. 13.
20A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries after he was struck by a car while walking across the intersection of 27th Street and Ryan Road at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 1. The suspect car, a white Nissan, fled the scene.
21A 38-year-old West Allis man was cited for failure to have control of a vehicle after his car drifted off the roadway, struck a traffic signal pole and came to rest on top of a guardrail on 76th Street and Drexel Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Aug. 2. The driver said he took some prescription medications before driving and may have fallen asleep briefly before the crash.
22A resident in the 4200 block of West Lakeview Drive reported that an unknown suspect(s) poured sugar and vegetable oil on his car and into the car's gas tank, wrote "hoe" and "homewrecker" on the car with white soap, and toilet papered the car and his front yard between midnight and 4:20 a.m. Aug. 8. A damage estimate was unavailable.
23The trim on a front passenger side door of a car was damaged during an apparent break-in attempt in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle between 9 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 10.
24A lamp post was damaged in the 7400 block of South Hillendale Drive before 2:20 p.m. Aug. 10. Damage is estimated at $150.
25A 52-year-old man was cited for making harassing phone calls to a resident in the 6600 block of South Whitnall Edge Road at 7 p.m. Aug. 6.
26A 19-year-old Wauwatosa woman was cited for underage drinking in the 9300 block of West Loomis Road at 12:26 a.m. Aug. 7.
27An intoxicated resident in the 6600 block of South Whitnall Edge Drive was cited for misuse of 911 after she called police to report that her girlfriend was peeing on her bed and clothing shortly after 3 p.m. Aug. 8.
28A counterfeit $50 bill and a counterfeit $10 bill were passed at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., on Aug. 10.
29A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for bail jumping at a residence in the 6300 block of South 35th Street at 9:42 a.m. Aug. 11. He was also taken into custody for having two outstanding warrants through the Franklin Police Department.
30A caller reported a suspicious man walking in the street that "looked like a tin man" with a silver painted face and tin foil clothing, who was screaming things at the caller near the Modern 41 Motel, 9375 S. 27th St., at 2:40 p.m. Aug. 12. Oak Creek police advised the "tin man," a 50-year-old Illinois man, to stay out of the roadway.
31Firefighters and police responded to a brush fire in the 9200 block of West Oakwood Road shortly after 4 p.m. Aug. 7. The fire started when a lawnmower got stuck in tall brush and started the grass on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters; no damages were reported.
Franklin police responded to four domestic violence calls and assisted with two rescue calls and one fire call between Aug. 6 and Aug. 13.
