The Franklin Police Department will receive a $25,000 state grant to crack down on drunken driving.
The state Department of Transportation will award the funds to pay for officers' overtime and to purchase new equipment for improved enforcement.
The money will be used through Sept. 30, 2010. The overtime deployments will be from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., primarily on Friday and Saturday nights, police Sgt. Eric Schroeder said.
