Aug. 19, 2014

Burglary

1 An unidentified person(s) broke into a storage shed in the 3600 block of West College Avenue and stole a hedge trimmer at about 4 p.m. Aug. 17. The trimmer was found on the property.

Theft

2 A Target debit card was stolen from a resident in the 8100 block of South Forest Hills Circle and was used to purchase over $917 worth of merchandise between June 23 and July 17. A security employee at Target provided police with photos of the individuals who used the card.

3 Two cords of hickory firewood were stolen from a home in the 9400 block of South 96th Street sometime between 11 a.m. Aug. 4 and 4 p.m. Aug. 8. The wood is valued at about $700.

4 A resident in the 12200 block of West Rhoder Avenue reported an unidentified person posed as a Microsoft technician, told her there were problems with her computer and scammed her out of $300 on Aug. 8. The suspect had access to every file on her computer, including her IRS filings, bank information, etc.

5 A 30-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting a pair of shoes at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

6 A resident's live-in girlfriend unexpectedly moved out of their apartment in the 6800 block of West Kathleen Circle and stole his 2005 Hyundai Elantra at about 1:15 a.m. Aug. 12.

7 A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting merchandise at Salvation Army 6341 S. 27th St., at about 6:10 p.m. Aug. 12.

8 A 51-year-old man reported a woman he knew only as "Renee" stole his vehicle, wallet, shorts, shoes and cellphone at the Knotty Pine Motel, 9063 S. 27th St., at about 8:40 p.m. Aug. 12. The victim told police he picked up the suspect on 14th and Hadley in Milwaukee on Aug. 11, and she stole his items while he was sleeping.

9 Two males shoplifted car stereo amplifiers, speakers, cellphone chargers and cases, valued at $363, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14. One of the suspects was positively identified.

10 A 28-year-old Cudahy woman was arrested for shoplifting household supplies at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 7:35 p.m. Aug. 14.

11 A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for receiving stolen property after it was discovered she was driving a 2011 Honda Odyssey that was reported stolen out of Milwaukee at the Park Motel, 7273 S. 27th St., at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 15.

12 A 41-year-old Cudahy woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing $81 worth of merchandise inside her bag at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 6:50 p.m. Aug. 15.

13 A wheeled cart with white shelves was stolen from the corn stand on the corner of South 76th Street and West Ryan Road sometime between 10:15 and 11 a.m. Aug. 16.

14 A radio faceplate was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 7500 block of South 72nd Street sometime between the evening hours of Aug. 17 and 7 a.m. Aug. 18.

15 Four Asplundh saws were reported stolen from locked storage compartments on trucks parked in the 11600 block of West Forest Home Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. Aug. 18.

Assault

16 A 32-year-old man was transported to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his abdominal area after a physical altercation with about 15 male subjects at On The Border, 10741 S. 27th St., at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

Drug Possession

17 An 18-year-old Milwaukee man and an 18-year-old Oak Creek man were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 7200 block of South 27th Street at about 10:55 p.m. Aug. 15.

18 A 19-year-old Franklin man was arrested for possession of marijuana and was taken into custody for having a valid warrant for underage drinking/possession of alcohol in the 6300 block of South 35th Street at about midnight Aug. 16.

19 A 31-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for possession of Schedule II narcotics (Oxycodone and Adderall), possession of Schedule IV narcotics (Alprazolam) and possession of drug paraphernalia at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 2:55 a.m. Aug. 16.

Drunken Driving

20 A 26-year-old Franklin man was arrested for drunken driving and was cited for operating after suspension, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and no insurance in the 7900 block of South 116th Street at about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

Vandalism

21 A tow-truck driver reported he was attempting to repossess a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 6300 block of South 35th Street when the owner, a 41-year-old woman, took the vehicle while it was hooked up to the truck and damaged the lift at about 5:20 p.m. Aug. 12. Police were unable to locate the woman or her vehicle, and she was later cited for criminal damage to property and operating after suspension.

Other

22 An 18-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for disorderly conduct and cited for operating after suspension, and two 18-year-old Franklin men and an 18-year-old Oak Creek man were arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking after they were caught egging a house in the 8800 block of South 89th Street at about 3:45 a.m. Aug. 13.

23 Police investigating a report of a suspicious person in the 8400 block of South River Terrace Drive arrested a 16-year-old boy for prowling and resisting/obstructing police after he fled police on foot at about 6:20 a.m. Aug. 18.

·Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted the fire department with one rescue call between Aug. 11 and Aug. 18.
