Police Report: July 31, 2014 issue

July 29, 2014


1 A woman reported she was the victim of a strong armed robbery in the 6300 block of South 35th Street at about 6:15 p.m. July 22. The woman stated she was approached by a male with a large black pistol who forced her to the ground and demanded her money, prescription medications and cell phone. The suspect was described as a 5-foot, 10-inch-tall black male weighing about 160 pounds and wearing long black pants, a black long-sleeved hoodie-type shirt and a black hat. The woman was arrested at the scene for having a valid warrant for shoplifting and was taken into custody.


2 The driver of a blue Chevy Impala left without paying for $31 of gas at Kwik Trip, 10750 W. Speedway Drive at about 7:15 p.m. July 21. The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall white male in his late 20s or early 30s with a buzz haircut and tattoos on his forearm.

3 A 17-year-old girl was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing merchandise in plastic store bags at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 2:20 p.m. July 22.

4 A 21-year-old Union Grove woman was arrested for shoplifting beauty items at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 7:30 p.m. July 25.

5 A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $171 worth of clothing and groceries at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 2:30 p.m. July 26.

6 A 31-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting seat covers, cot and a hose at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 8:50 p.m. July 27.

7 A silver 2003 Mercedes Benz was stolen from the 10400 block of West Whitnall Edge Court sometime between 10 and 10:30 p.m. July 27.

Drug possession

8 A 19-year-old Franklin man was arrested for possession of marijuana after he was pulled over and cited for driving an unregistered vehicle and no insurance in the 6900 block of South Tumblecreek Drive at about 2:50 a.m. July 23. A 19-year-old male passenger in his car was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

9 A 39-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine during a traffic stop in the 8300 block of South 27th Street at about 1:45 a.m. July 25.

10 A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police observed them, in plain view, inside his car in the 8200 block of South 88th Street at about 3:15 a.m. July 28 after receiving a call that a man was passed out in his car. The man was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for treatment of a suspected heroin overdose.


11 A 29-year-old woman was cited for cruelty to animals after she left her dog inside a car for at least an hour with the windows barely rolled down in the parking lot at Sam's Club, 6705 S. 27th St., at about 2:05 p.m. July 22.

12 A 29-year-old man was taken into custody for bail jumping and trespassing after he was seen taking large amounts of Brewers clothing at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 5:25 p.m. July 23. The man had been banned from the store due to past shoplifting incidents.

13 A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for prowling in the 9900 block of South 92nd Street at about 1:15 a.m. July 25.

14 A 19-year-old man was arrested for underage drinking after the car he was riding in was pulled over in the 6900 block of South 92nd Street at about 2 a.m. July 25. The driver of the car, a 16-year-old girl, was cited for a driver's license violation and was issued a warning about curfew.

· Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with one rescue call between July 21 and July 28.
