Franklin Police Report: July 3, 2014 issue

Theft

1An unidentified female driving a handicapped scooter shoplifted several bottles of liquor at Pick N Save, 7201 S. 76th St., on June 15 and June 16.

2A red, older model men's bicycle was stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 4400 block of West Woodland Drive sometime between 8 p.m. June 22 and 9 p.m. June 24.

3A 17-year-old girl was arrested for retail theft (two counts) after she stole $120 worth of gas during two gas drive-offs at Hodach's, 9830 W. St. Martins Road, at about 8 p.m. June 23. She was also cited for disorderly conduct.

4An unidentified man driving a silver Chrysler van left without paying for $82 worth of gas at Kwik Trip, 10750 W. Speedway Drive, at about 12:40 p.m. June 24. The man was described as having facial hair and wearing a gray hoodie, black shorts and a red and black knit cap with a brim.

5A 49-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting swim trunks at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 3:30 p.m. June 24.

6The driver of a gold Toyota Camry left without paying for $67 of gas at Kwik Trip, 10750 W. Speedway Drive, at about 1:40 p.m. June 26. The driver is described as a 6-foot-tall white male between the ages of 20 and 30.

7A 25-year-old Cudahy woman was arrested for shoplifting after she intentionally failed to scan merchandise in the self checkout lane and also concealed merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 6:20 p.m. June 27.

8A 31-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he found a receipt, took the item listed on the receipt off the shelf and attempted to return it for cash at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 2:30 p.m. June 28.

9A 38-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting baby clothes at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 5:35 p.m. June 28. The 21-year-old was also taken into custody for having two valid warrants for retail theft and possession of a theft detection device through the Brown Deer Police Department and a warrant for disorderly conduct through the Wauwatosa Police Department.

Assault

10A 21-year-old Franklin woman was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after she physically assaulted a 21-year-old man in the parking lot at Culver's, 4220 W. Oakwood Park Court, at about 8:45 p.m. June 27. According to police, the woman went to Culver's the evening of June 26 and accused the victim, an employee at Culver's, of stealing her laptop computer. She confronted him in the parking lot where she struck him several times in the head and groin. When he attempted to call police, she knocked his cell phone to the ground, causing it to break.

Vandalism

11A shed lock was damaged during an attempted burglary in the 6300 block of South 27th Street reported an sometime between 3 p.m. June 18 and 3:45 p.m. June 26. The unidentified suspect(s) pulled the lock hasp screws out of the plywood frame but did not gain entry.

12The hood of a 2007 red Toyota Camry was damaged while parked at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex, 6000 W. Ryan Road, sometime between 1:45 and 4:30 p.m. June 29.

Fire

13A 33-year-old man was cited for improper disposal of burning materials after he caused a dumpster fire in the 6600 block of South 35th Street at about 7:45 p.m. June 29.

Other

14An 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested for disorderly conduct at about 10:45 p.m. June 28 in the 6500 block of South 35 Street, after police responded to a report that about six people were involved in a physical altercation on a front lawn.

15A 28-year-old man was arrested for prowling on June 29 after a security officer reported seeing a man trying door handles on cars and going through vehicles in the parking lot at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, 10101 S. 27th St., at about 10 p.m. June 25. Police were able to track down the man using the license plate number of his vehicle. The man admitted he went through cars and stole change from at least one vehicle but told police he was just looking for a light for his cigarette.

· Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call between June 23 and June 30.
