1A Springfield 9mm handgun, a magazine with seven rounds of ammunition and about $100 in change was stolen from a residence in the 11100 block of West Ryan Road between Aug. 23 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6. The owner told police he left some windows open during the time frame the theft occurred in, and the thief might have used a window to access the home. Police are investigating.
2About $1,500 was stolen off a night stand at a home in the 3000 block of West Minnesota Avenue between Aug. 25 and Sept. 2. It is unknown how the thief gained entry to the home. Police are following up.
3A 46-inch Sony high-definition television, valued at $800, was stolen from a home in the 8000 block of West Bruss Lane between Aug. 28 and 12:45 p.m. Sept. 8. Two purses were rummaged through. It appears the thief entered through the rear patio doors. Police are investigating.
4Pediatric Diagnostic Imaging, Great Lakes Dermatology and the Clinic of Cosmetic Surgery, all within a medical building in the 10500 block of West Loomis Road, were burglarized between 7 p.m. Aug. 30 and 8 a.m. Sept. 3. A man wearing medical scrubs, a dark-colored cap and gloves can be seen on security video inside the building about 3:45 p.m. Aug. 31, and placing some stolen merchandise into a waiting white-colored van. The investigation is ongoing.
5An employee called police after observing pry marks on the door handle at TSA, 9809 S. Franklin Drive, about 8 a.m. Sept. 8. The responding officer noted the door was still secured by an electronic lock, but noted a significant number of pry marks around the door handle. A special patrol was requested in the area.
6A black bag containing a $250 Dell laptop computer was stolen from a home in the 8000 block of South Legend Drive between 11:20 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Sept. 8. The thief apparently used a key that was hidden outside the residence to gain entry.
7 Five checks intended for various utilities and insurance companies were stolen from a mailbox in the 8000 block of South 55th Street on Aug. 21. The check-writer had put them in the mail that day, but received word that none of the companies received the checks. The theft was reported at 3:40 p.m. Sept. 3. Police and the victim are following up with the U.S. Postal Service.
8Two black Sea-Doo tandem-axle trailers, valued at $2,500 each, were stolen from the west side of the upholstery work and supplies building at Kendor Marine Corp., 5721 W. Ryan Road, between 6 p.m. Aug. 22 and 4:19 p.m. Sept. 3. A locked safety cable was cut to gain access to the trailers.
9A red and black Polaris Racing ATV, valued at $7,400, was stolen from Two Brothers Restaurant, 9405 S. 27th St., either Sept. 2 or Sept. 3. The ATV had a green "Monster" sticker on the front and a yellow band around the steering column.
10A man shoplifted two Uniden DVR surveillance systems, valued at $329 each, at Sam's Club, 6705 S. 27th St., at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 4. The man fled in a lighter-colored Ford Explorer.
11A man and woman shoplifted a tack puller at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, and then fled the lot in a white Buick Park Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 4. Police are following up with the owner of the vehicle.
12A 48-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting an undisclosed amount of merchandise at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 4.
13A 26-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:50 p.m. Sept. 4. He also was cited for obstructing an investigation after he gave police a false name during his arrest.
14A man shoplifted a $220 BB rifle at Gander Mountain, 6939 S. Riverwood Blvd., about 6:10 p.m. Sept. 4. The man — described as a 5-foot, 9-inch black male in his late teens with a slim build and wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and white athletic shoes — was seen removing the gun from his pants outside the business. Employees chased him until he crossed 27th Street and was heading toward Menards. Police were unable to find him.
15A woman's smart phone was stolen either at Walgreens, 9909 W. Loomis Road, or Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Sept. 4. The victim stated she attempted to locate the phone by using an app, but was unsuccessful.
16A 19-year-old woman was arrested for employee theft after she admitted stealing a total of $200 while working as a cashier at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 4. The thefts took place Aug. 31 and Sept. 2.
17A 57-year-old Muskego woman was arrested for shoplifting $171 worth of razors and Advil at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
18A 1991 black Chevy Silverado extended-cab pickup truck was stolen from the parking lot at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., between 10:10 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 5. The victim told police the keys were left inside the vehicle. Also in the vehicle: .22-caliber handgun with a magazine, an electric impact wrench, a GPS unit and 10 cans of unopened Keystone Light beer.
19A 57-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting a water filter at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 9:50 a.m. Sept. 6.
20A $300 flat-screen television was reported stolen from a room at Embassy Motel, 8253 S. 27th St., at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 7. According to a witness, a white female was seen carrying something out of the room with a blanket over it, and then placing it in a white Chevrolet Impala. Police are following up.
21A 24-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he concealed a calculator and started walking out the door at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 7.
22A $300 Samsung tablet computer was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of West Woodward Drive between 9 and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 8. Two men working in the yard had access to the home during the time of the incident, but both denied being in the home or taking the computer.
23An 18-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting after they attempted to flee with merchandise they had not paid for at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 9.
24Three Green Bay Packers jerseys were stolen at Dunham's Sports, 6525 S. 27th St., about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 9. Loss is estimated at $300. The suspect, described as a 5-foot, 8-inch tall, thin Hispanic male with a bald head, goatee and a hoop earring in his left ear, fled north through the parking lot on a dark-colored, BMX-style bicycle.
25A 26-year-old man was arrested for substantial battery for kicking his girlfriend in the face until she passed out at the El Rancho Motel, 8973 S. 27th St., at 2 p.m. Sept. 2. The victim drove herself to a hospital for treatment.
26A 66-year-old Franklin woman was arrested for aggravated battery to an elderly person after she physically assaulted an 82-year-old woman by striking her on the face with her fists and cane at Lake Pointe Manor, 8781 W. Travis Court, about 9:15 a.m. Sept. 4. The younger woman was subsequently removed from the home.
27A 26-year-old man was arrested for battery after he struck another man in the side of the face with a broken piece of concrete during an argument outside of Eric's Setback, 6357 S. 27th St., about 11 p.m. Sept. 7. The man arrested lost one tooth and had a possible broken jaw after the man he was fighting threw him to the ground to protect himself. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. According to a witness, the victim, described as a 6-foot, 1-inch man weighing about 350 pounds with long hair and a beard, also suffered severe injuries, but left the scene with another man in a dark-colored truck. Police were unable to find him.
28A 23-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 8700 block of South 27th Street at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 2.
29A 42-year-old West Allis man was arrested for possession of marijuana after police found 1.5 grams of THC in his possession at Whitnall View Motel, 6991 S. Lovers Lane Road, about 4 a.m. Sept. 5.
30A 17-year-old South Milwaukee boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and cited for driving without a valid driver's license during a traffic stop in the 2600 block of West Drexel Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
31An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the parking lot at OfficeMax, 7199 S. 76th St., at 10:50 p.m. Sept. 8.
32A 44-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, in the 6200 block of South 108th Street at 10:35 p.m. Sept. 2. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.20.
33A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, after he was seen driving north in the southbound lanes of 27th Street at Drexel Avenue at 10:55 p.m. Sept. 7. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.
34A 44-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving, fifth offense, and was cited for reckless driving after a rollover accident in the 8400 block of South 76th Street about 1:25 p.m. Sept. 9. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital. A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unavailable at the time of the report.
35A 2011 Kia Soul was scratched with a key while it was parked at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Sept. 2.
36At 9:24 a.m. Sept. 8, an officer reported graffiti painted on the roadway in the 8900 block and the 9100 block of South 116th Street. Male genitalia was painted on the road in red- or rust-colored paint in the 8900 block, and a swastika was painted on the road in the 9100 block of South 116th Street.
37The Franklin Fire Department and police responded to a report of an unattended trash bin fire at a residence in the 9500 block of West St. Martins Road at 6:50 p.m. Sept. 4. Upon arrival, firefighters found miscellaneous building materials and trash burning inside a bin at the residence, which neighbors claimed had been burning since about 3 p.m. The resident, who had just purchased the home, was mailed a citation for illegal burning.
38A vendor selling counterfeit Harley Davidson merchandise on Sept. 1 at St. Martin's Fair in the 11400 block of West St. Martins Road had his inventory confiscated about noon Sept. 2.
39An employee at Andy's, 5040 W. Rawson Ave., called police after he told a 39-year-old man to leave the store, and the man came back shortly afterward with his pants around his knees about 4:05 p.m. Sept. 7. Police found the man and told him he wasn't allowed to return to the business.
40A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 6000 block of West Ryan Road at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 9.
· Franklin police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with six rescue calls and one fire call between Sept. 2 and Sept. 9.
