1A 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck that was stolen from Ewald Automotive, 6319 S. 108th St., between June 28 and July 1 was recovered in Milwaukee on July 8. The stolen truck was found attached to a trailer that had been stolen from someone in Menomonee Falls. When found, the truck was dented and paint transfer was visible on the front bumper and rear fender. The rear sliding window, steering column and ignition also were damaged. Franklin police are investigating the theft in conjunction with the Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls police departments.
2A Wisconsin driver's license and about $10 were stolen out of a woman's purse in the 9400 block of South 96th Street between 9:30 a.m. July 5 and 1 p.m. July 8. The woman had lost her purse, and a letter carrier found it in a mailbox near the Speedway gas station on Highway 100.
3A 26-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he pushed a cart filled with $395 worth of unpaid merchandise out the front door at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, about 1 p.m. July 8.
4A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting baby bath oil, dish soap, an air freshener and jewelry — a total value of $52 — at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., about 3 p.m. July 8.
5A 40-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $43 worth of clothing at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:55 p.m. July 8.
6A wallet containing credit cards and a Fire Department badge and cellphone were stolen from a locked vehicle at Planet Fitness, 6529 S. 27th St., between 7:30 and 8 p.m. July 8. There were no signs of forced entry or damage to the vehicle.
7A $250 Apple iPod Classic and $100 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7100 block of West Jordan Court between 9:45 p.m. July 8 and 6:20 a.m. July 9.
8A $100 Apple iPod and a $10 flashlight with a red lens were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 7200 block of West Woodbury Drive between 10 p.m. July 8 and 6:45 a.m. July 9.
9Change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7200 block of South Dover Hill Court between 11 p.m. July 8 and 6 a.m. July 9.
10About $10 was stolen from a locked car in the 7500 block of South Riverview Road between 11 p.m. July 8 and 7:45 a.m. July 9. There were no signs of forced entry.
11A wallet containing a credit and bank business card, two department store gift cards valued at $85, membership and school ID cards, and a $20 bottle of Ralph Lauren cologne were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7200 block of West Woodbury Drive between 11:30 p.m. July 8 and 5 a.m. July 9. An undisclosed amount of cash was left untouched in the vehicle.
12A wallet containing about $100, debit and credit cards, and personal ID was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7000 block of West Woodbury Drive between 1:30 and 11 a.m. July 9.
13A 44-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting a $50 outdoor tent at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:10 p.m. July 9.
14A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $35 worth of groceries at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 1:45 p.m. July 10.
15An 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, both of South Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting $106 worth of groceries at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:05 p.m. July 10.
16A 22-year-old Caledonia man was arrested for shoplifting socks, underwear, a Frisbee and mosquito repellent at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 9:15 p.m. July 10. The total value of the items taken is $80.
17A 22-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting three videogame system remote controls at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 9:25 p.m. July 10. The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. and the woman was taken into custody when she was found in the 5500 block of West River Park Court.
18A $300 iPhone was reported stolen out of a lunchbox inside an employee's cubby at Baptista's Bakery, 4625 W. Oakwood Park Drive, at 11 a.m. July 11. The phone was pinged at a residence in the 1100 block of South 18th Street, and the victim and a friend went to the residence and heard her phone ringing inside. The business is checking into any temporary employees who may live there; police are following up.
19A 21-year-old Illinois man was arrested for shoplifting $50 worth of Yu-Gi-Oh collector cards at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 8:30 p.m. July 11.
20A 2004 GMC Envoy was stolen from a driveway in the 6400 block of South Carroll Circle between the evening hours of July 11 and 10:30 a.m. July 12. The vehicle has black running boards, a Whitnall basketball sticker on the left side of the rear window and a St. Mary's volleyball sticker on the right side of the rear window. According to the victim, the keys were left inside the vehicle.
21A woman reported her purse — containing an ATM card, about $230, a Mastercard and about $60 in gift cards from Barnes & Noble — was stolen between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 13 at an unknown location in Franklin, and her credit card was used three times between 2:19 and 2:24 p.m. at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St. A Walmart loss prevention specialist provided a photo of the people who used the card. Police are following up.
22A 23-year-old Waterford man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing a cellphone at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 8:05 p.m. July 13.
23A purse was stolen out of a car at The Rock Sports Complex, 7900 W. Crystal Ridge Drive, between 4 and 6 p.m. July 14.
24An man shoplifted a $159 drill at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, and was later seen in a vehicle parked at Menard's in Oak Creek while another person attempted to return the stolen drill for cash at 8:30 p.m. July 14.
25A wallet was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 4500 block of West Tumblecreek Drive between the evening hours of July 14 and 6:50 a.m. July 15.
26A 50-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting $287 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 3:40 p.m. July 15.
27An external hard drive was stolen at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 6:15 p.m. July 15.
·A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for battery and possession of marijuana after he slapped his juvenile sister across the face with an open hand, causing pain and swelling, at 2:25 p.m. July 12. He also was arrested on a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrant.
28A 49-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the roundabout at the entry of Pick 'n Save in the 9700 block of West Drexel Avenue at 9:20 a.m. July 13. He was taken to the hospital for a blood test, the results of which were unavailable.
29A 24-year-old Hales Corners man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for deviating from a designated lane on Lovers Lane Road and Rawson Avenue at 3 a.m. July 14. He refused sobriety/breath testing and was taken into custody.
30A six-foot piece of PVC underground drainage pipe was removed from a residence in the 10900 block of West Coronado Court and left lying in the yard between 2 p.m. July 9 and 1 p.m. July 10. No damage estimate was available.
31A vehicle's window was smashed while it was parked at The Home Depot, 6489 S. 27th St., at 1:10 p.m. July 10.
32A 2005 Chrysler Sebring was scratched with a key at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., between 1:30 and 1:50 p.m. July 15. A damage estimate was unavailable.
33A 28-year-old Franklin woman was taken into custody on a Greendale Police Department warrant for theft after she came into the Franklin Police Department, 9455 W. Loomis Road, at 2:05 p.m. July 8 to report her wedding rings had been lost or stolen. Police are following up on the theft complaint.
·A resident was defrauded out of $1,575 after she sent the money to purchase a bird online and never received the bird. She made the report at 5:20 p.m. July 9.
34A resident called police to complain about church bells ringing at Sacred Heart School of Theology, 7335 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 6, 6:15, 7, 7:15 and 7:45 a.m. July 11. Dispatchers contacted the school and were told the church bells always ring every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily.
35A city employee called police at 10:15 a.m. July 11 to report the water tower in the 7400 block of West Puetz Road was tagged with graffiti.
36A 51-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became intoxicated and made unwelcomed sexual advances toward a housekeeping staff member at Staybridge Suites, 9575 S. 27th St., at 3:10 p.m. July 13.
37An Ohio woman called police to report her 13-year-old daughter was bitten by a male black lab/pitbull mix dog while at a residence in the 6900 block of South Phyllis Lane at 8:15 a.m. July 14. The victim was taken to the emergency room at Wheaton Franciscan where she received about 10 stitches on her left cheek to close scratches and a puncture wound. The dog was quarantined at the residence for 10 days; no citations were issued.
· Franklin police responded to one rescue call between July 8 and July 15.
