1Jewelry, silverware, prescription medications, alcohol and $200 were stolen from a locked home in the 10600 block of West Friar Lane between 7:55 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Oct. 4. A rear door was forced open to gain entry to the home.
2Jewelry, three laptop computers, a digital camera, several prescription medications and a Wii gaming console were stolen from a home in the 6900 block of South Woodcrest Court between 8 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. Oct. 4. A front door deadbolt lock was opened to gain entry. Police are following up on a suspicious vehicle in the area, a mid-to-late 90s yellow/green "beat-up" Ford F150.
3A resident in the 4100 block of West Hilltop Lane called police after she came home and found a teenage boy stealing beer from her garage at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 5. The teen is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch tall white male with a thin build and long, dark hair who used a skateboard and carried a blue sling backpack. He was last seen traveling south on 41st Street, accompanied by a person on a bicycle.
4License plates were stolen off a car parked at Franklin Mobile Estates, 6361 S. 27th St., between May 1 and Oct. 1. The owner of the car didn't realize the plates were missing until she received a letter that her plates were on a car involved in a gas theft at Kwik Trip.
5Three ladders were taken from a vehicle parked in the 9900 block of South 76th Street between 6 p.m. Sept. 26 and 6 a.m. Sept. 27. Loss is estimated at $720.
6A set of golf clubs in a red and black golf bag were stolen out of an unlocked enclosed trunk bed in the 5600 block of West Cascade Drive between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 1.
7An air rifle, power drill and a jig saw were stolen from a locked truck in the 8300 block of South 36th Street between 11 p.m. Sept. 30 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 1. Loss is estimated at $725. The back passenger-side window was smashed to gain access.
8Three .22-caliber pistols were reported stolen by a resident in the 11100 block of West Oakwood Road at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 2. The theft took place between Oct. 1, 2011, and June 1.
9A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Janesville, were arrested for shoplifting $226 worth of brass fittings at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 2.
10A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting cough medication at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:10 p.m. Oct. 2.
11A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting after he concealed a pair of headphones in his inner jacket pocket at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 2.
12A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest after he stole five bottles of vodka from Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., and fled from police officers at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 2. He also was arrested on a probation violation.
13A purse containing $250 and credit cards was stolen from a locked van parked outside Planet Fitness, 6529 S. 27th St., between 9 and 9:40 a.m. Oct. 3. A passenger-side sliding window was smashed to gain access.
14A 16-year-old St. Francis boy was arrested for shoplifting $31 worth of Yu Gi Oh! cards at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
15A 29-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for shoplifting $38 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 3.
16An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting $54 of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
17Three campaign signs were stolen from a yard in the 9300 block of South Cobblestone Way between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 8:45 a.m. Oct. 4.
18A cased compound bow with arrows and arrow tips, two cased pool cues and two knife sets were reported stolen by a resident in the 6500 block of South 123rd Street at 10:55 a.m. Oct. 5. The theft took place Sept. 29. Police have a possible suspect in the case and are following up.
19At 6:55 p.m. Oct. 5, a resident in the 4100 block of West McGinnis Drive called police to report a company that was doing work at her residence removed checks from her checkbook and used them to take money out of her checking and savings account. Police are investigating.
20A Coach purse containing identification, a driver's license and credit cards was stolen from a minivan parked at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6881 S. 51st St., between 6:30 and 10:20 p.m. Oct. 5. While canceling her credit cards, the victim found a fraudulent $2,400 charge was made at Target. Police are following up to obtain video from Target.
21A campaign sign was stolen out of a yard in the 9300 block of South 31st Street between 6 p.m. Oct. 6 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7.
22A 19-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 6.
23A 26-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman, both of Franklin, were arrested for stealing a grill in the 9300 block of South Sherwood Drive at 11:10 a.m. Oct. 8. The 26-year-old woman was also arrested for sending harassing text messages to the grill's owner.
24A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 8.
25A 19-year-old Oak Creek woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle at the Franklin Police Department, 9455 W. Loomis Road, shortly before 1 p.m. Oct. 5.
26Officers responding to a report of a possible underage drinking party in the 2800 block of West Southland Drive arrested a 21-year-old Oak Creek man for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 2:38 a.m. Oct. 6.
27A 53-year-old New Berlin man was arrested for drunken driving in the 7500 block of South 27th Street at 10 p.m. Oct. 5. His blood-alcohol content was 0.13.
28A brick was used to smash the rear window of a car while it was parked in the 8000 block of South Forest Meadows Drive between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 8 a.m. Oct. 2.
29The left front tire of a car was punctured and graffiti was spray-painted on the hood while it was parked in a driveway in the 8200 block of South 88th Street between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 a.m. Oct. 8.
30A 22-year-old Franklin man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 7800 block of South Scepter Drive at 9 p.m. Oct. 3.
31A resident of the 4100 block of West McGinnis Drive reported seeing two prowlers near his residence between 5 and 6 p.m. Oct. 5. One of the prowlers, a white male wearing gray clothing, a baseball hat, a backpack and carrying a long skateboard, entered the homeowner's garage and fled when he was seen. A second white male who was standing across the street also fled when seen. The two threw empty beer bottles at the residence but caused no damage.
32A 22-year-old South Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 5500 block of West Rawson Avenue at 10:35 p.m. Oct. 8.
33An officer responding to a burning complaint found old Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues smoldering in the backyard of a duplex in the 3300 block of West College Avenue at 1:24 p.m. Oct. 1. No one was home at the time. The officer extinguished the fire with the resident's hose and warned the property owner, a 34-year-old man, about illegal burning. He then was cited for illegal burning on Oct. 7 after he was caught burning items in his backyard at 2:50 p.m. Oct. 7.
Franklin police assisted with three rescue calls between Sept. 30 and Oct. 9.
