I grew up on St Martins road and have fond memories of the fair. It was trashy then as well, but it gave birth to all sorts of entrepreneurial activity. I learned how to earn money by parking cars, selling stuff, and helping vendors (I remember a traveling carnival in the field between the church and Sweeneys) with setting up.

St. Martins Fair is a farmers/flea market people! Sorry if it doesn't market "Boston Store" merchandise and that makes it trashy to a couple of new Franklin snobs. Karma, the fair is the first Monday of every month. Go a different route. They're not gonna move the fair because a few transplants are in too big a hurry to go different way once a month. Wisc2011, what has the fair, Wild Breed or Landmark ever done to you? I'm sure nothing. I read these blogs and I'm tired of a few with their noses in the air that think that private businesses or events should be shut down only because they don't project the image that a few think they should. If you don't like them, then don't patronize them. It shouldn't mean they should close. News flash, one of the major sponsors for the Fourth of July event every year is a strip club! Don't see you complaining about that....... >:(

I can't stand St. Martins Fair! When we moved to this area we didn't know it existed until I tried to get my kids to school, I could hardly get through because the people just walk on the road & don't give a darn if you need to get past or not. Plus the stuff they sell is mostly junk! There are several fields that could be used so at least neighborhood traffic could get through. The whole event is just trashy. >:(

We live out of state now, but it's good to hear the fair goes on - I hope to bring my kids to it some day.
