Parents of the bride-to-be are Jimmy G. Hayes and Virginia R. Hayes-Carter, both of Columbus, Ohio. The parents of the groom are deceased.

The bride-to-be earned an associate degree in business.

The future groom earned a bachelor's degree in business. He is employed at FIS, formerly known as Metavante.

The couple is from Columbus, Ohio, but have made Wisconsin their home for the past five years.
