Karen A. Yahnke

Karen A. Yahnke of Eagle River, formerly of Oak Creek, died June 11, 2009, at age 62.

She was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Milwaukee to Elmer and Mary (nee Matuszewski) Yahnke. She was raised and attended schools in Oak Creek and was employed in Milwaukee by Johnson Controls, working in the marketing department.

In 1993, she moved to Eagle River, where she was very involved with the Eagle River Horse Show at the Vilas County Fair. She was a member of the Vilas County Agricultural Society, the American Saddlebred Association and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Tara (James) Carey of Eagle River; brother, Norbert Malicki of St. Germain; a grandson, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. June 18 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Eagle River.
