David Dewey Chicks

David Dewey Chicks of Franklin died Feb. 20, 2009, at age 78.

He retired from Harnischfeger Corp. in 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rita; children, Joan (Don) Wick, Patrick, Jeannine (Jim) Gantner, Jacqueline (Jeff) Guttuso, Randall (Gail) and Russell (Shelly); grandchildren, Jessica (Tim), Erin, Dougie, Katya, Jonathan, James, Brie, Vincent, Cole, Whitney, Randall Jr. and Zoya; great-grandchildren, Sullivan and Mira; brothers, Clarence and Calvin (Clarice); sister, Aldine Utter; other relatives and friends.

Services were at Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church, Red Springs. Burial was at Red Springs Cemetery.

The family thanks the doctors and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital, the Southwest Dialysis Center and Franciscan Villa for the wonderful care given to David.
