Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
Today, Kyla won’t really understand why I tear up unexpectedly throughout the day. She certainly doesn’t watch TV news. Obviously she wasn’t born before the horrific attacks on our country changed all of our lives forever. Selfishly, I’m glad that she is still naïve enough and young enough that she doesn’t have to suffer through the one of the worst anniversaries of our country’s history. I reflected on all of this in my 9/11 blog last year.
In my Culinary Yes Yes blog this week, #92, I couldn’t believe the ridiculousness of Amanda Marcotte’s theory. It’s good to know I’m not the only one who thinks she’s a nitwit.
I’ve been known to have “Mama’s Not Cookin’ Tonight” nights. Even before starting my new part-time job at St. Anthony’s this school year there have been many occasions where the day just got the best of me and dinner would be anything but gourmet. I’m fortunate that there are many meals Kevin and Kyla willingly eat. There are favorites, of course, and an occasional request not to make something. But generally I don’t stress over providing an evening meal for three people.
