How liberals view Arizona

Political Cartoon by Glenn Foden

Liberals want to ignore immigration law

"Fury erupted because Arizona lawmakers had had enough and decided to become the first state to have the guts to give police the authority to do the unthinkable: enforce the law.

Some concept, huh? Actually letting cops do their jobs. So when an Arizona police officer pulls someone over for speeding or weaving through traffic and they discover that the driver has absolutely no identification on them and is barely capable of speaking English, that officer might conclude that the driver is in Arizona illegally. Ask any cop and they’ll assure you that it doesn’t exactly take a forensics team from NCIS to figure out that someone is an illegal."

Whose country is this?

"With the support of 70 percent of its citizens, Arizona has ordered sheriffs and police to secure the border and remove illegal aliens, half a million of whom now reside there.

Arizona acted because the U.S. government has abdicated its constitutional duty to protect the states from invasion and refuses to enforce America’s immigration laws.

'We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act,' said Gov. Jan Brewer. 'But decades of inaction and misguided policy have created an unacceptable situation.'

We have a crisis in Arizona because we have a failed state in Washington.

What is the response of Barack Obama, who took an oath to see to it that federal laws are faithfully executed?

He is siding with the law-breakers."

Arizona sheriff says cops are being killed by illegal aliens

"Law enforcement officials from the Arizona counties hardest hit by illegal immigration say they want U.S. troops to help secure the border, to prevent the deaths of more officers at the hands of criminals who enter the country illegally.

'We’ve had numerous officers that have been killed by illegal immigrants in Arizona,' Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said at a Capitol Hill news conference. 'And that shouldn’t happen one time.'

Babeu said the violence in Arizona has reached 'epidemic proportions' and must be stopped. 'In just one patrol area, we’ve had 64 pursuits -- failure to yield for an officer -- in one month,'  Babeu said. 'That’s out of control'."

Arizona has it right

Of course the pro-illegal immigration crowd is going berserk that Arizona has done such a common-sense thing. Democrats see any immigration reform measures that seek to protect our border as a threat to their future political base. You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to not see that the grand plan of the Democrats is to entrap illegal immigrants by giving them legal status and then to enslave and destroy them with numerous federal hand-outs and programs.

While I applaud Arizona for its bold and brave new law, putting illegals in jail is the wrong move. That costs too much. I say Arizona should follow their own American hero, Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County. Sheriff Arpaio keeps crooks in a large outdoor holding facility and makes them sleep in tents. Among other common sense things, he feeds them bologna sandwiches. I hope they are not fresh.

My good friend Sheriff Arpaio's common sense policies and practices drives the ACLU and the rest of the left-wing batty. He puts smiles on the faces of Americans who still believe that pragmatism and common sense should rule the day.”
