A quote from Salma Hayek:  “When Valentina was not even 1 month old, my aunt [gave me the best advice]: ‘Put her to sleep yourself every night.  Sing to her and cradle her in your arms and sit by her side – every night.  Because one day you won’t be able to, and it’s going to happen really fast'.’”

I must say, I have held Kyla and rocked her to sleep every night since she has been born.  And every evening as I am thanking God for this amazing blessing, our baby, my eyes fill with tears at the thought that much too soon, I won’t be able to do this.

I have not taken one day for granted or wished away one day of the little struggles.  This past year has gone by so remarkably fast that I shudder to think about the next fifteen.  In the blink of an eye she will be driving, going to prom, and getting her first part-time job to pay for clothes that I hate.  While I am looking forward to every stage of motherhood I am in NO RUSH for this time to be over.  Really, would you?
