Kevin Fischer is an award-winning veteran broadcaster who has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for nearly three decades.
Kevin, who is a legislative aide to state Sen. Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin), can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.
Those of you who read state Senator Mary Lazich’s blog know how fond she is of attending Eagle Scout ceremonies and presenting state plaques. I am honored to fill in for the Senator when she is unavailable.
I’m always amazed at the folks who attend Eagle Scout ceremonies and concede how they touched and impressed they are at these young men. I wish everyone could attend Eagle Scout festivities to hear and see the profession of love of God, country, neighbor and community.
God bless these young men, their mentors, family members, and the Scouts who guide teach them.
And I was extremely happy to hear the results of a recent case involving an Eagle Scout and a band of union thugs.
Union goons went after a 17-year old Eagle Scout because he dared for over 200 hours of volunteer service to try to clear a bike path in a park.
The local Service Employees International Union, instead of applauding the effort, screamed foul, not understanding how foolish the union would look. The fools were roundly criticized. As a result, the president of the union, Nick Balzano stepped down. Six other high-ranking members of the union also resigned.
Unions only care about themselves.
Case in point:

'It’s like sitting here watching your own funeral," Chris Liebenthal of Milwaukee said while watching the Milwaukee County Board act on the 2010 budget. Liebenthal is a human service worker with Milwaukee County Department of Human Services. Jsonline photo
But every once in awhile, good does triumph over evil.
Don’tcha love it!
