A bit of a dilemma for Franklin football fans

You might be waking up to news that Waunakee Friday won the state Division 2 football championship. Like they did against Franklin in the semi-finals last week, Waunakee won convincingly, beating two-time defending champion Kimberly.

So, Franklin football fans are you….

1) Pleased that Waunakee won. After all, you can now claim that Franklin lost to the eventual champion, or are you…

2) Still stinging after last week’s very tough, disappointing loss and as such were rooting for Kimberly?

  1. I totally concur.

And I commend the Franklin Athletic Director and football staff for scheduling those tough opponents. It makes your team and your program stronger.
  2. Congratulations to Coach Klemp, his staff and the players on the 2009 Saber football team for an outstanding season!

They lost just three games all year - but look who they lost to:

Waunakee - Division 2 State champ

Marquette - Division 1 State champ

Kenosha Bradford: Division 1 team who made it to the third level of the playoffs (and lost to Marquette).

Thanks for a great ride and best of luck next year!!

    Dave Bartels
