Congratulations Franklin Little League All-Stars!

The 12-year old Franklin Little League National All-Stars defeated the Franklin Little League American All-Stars Monday night for the Little League District 6 Championship.

The Franklin Little League National All-Stars now advance to the state tournament this Saturday in Bristol. They will play the District 4 champions at 1:30 this Saturday afternoon at Brighton Dale Park located at 830 248th Avenue, just off County Highway BB near Kansasville.

Congratulations to this great bunch of Franklin kids!

I would be remiss if I did not mention that the Franklin National All-Stars is the team that Devin Baehr was not selected to represent. I have already received an e-mail about this and former Franklin Little League President David Bartels has left a comment on one of my blogs expressing vindication.

Again, this is a wonderful accomplishment on the part of these Franklin youngsters. Some friendly advice: I’d be really, really careful about that “I told you so” stuff so as not to be interpreted as another slight of, or jab directed at, young Devin Baehr.

It’s obvious the Franklin All-Star team is talented. Would it be even better if Devin Baehr had been selected?

Finally, David Bartels, who just can’t come to grips with the fact that not everyone agrees with him, is raising the irrelevant and silly question of what All-Star should be removed to make room
for Devin Baehr. That, of course, is not the issue at hand. No one has made, is making, or will make that crazy suggestion. It is an attempt to divert attention away from the real issue at hand, the snub of a deserving player and an All-Star selection process that could use some improvement.

Again, congratulations to the Franklin All-Stars! Go get ‘em at state!

And congratulations to the Franklin 9-year old All-Stars!
