Next week, ABC News will interrupt programming to broadcast a White House special promoting their health care proposal.
With the issue quite literally on prime time - and without any other perspectives - we want to make sure you know there is more than one view on this important issue.
Let us be clear, the U.S. Chamber supports health care reform; but not at the cost of our economy or your health care benefits.
With the health care debate front and center, now is the time to oppose any legislation that would create a government-run insurance plan, force employers to pay-or-play, or establish an unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy to make your health care decisions.
Just this week, a non-partisan report was issued estimating that the Kennedy/Dodd proposal would force 15 million people out of employer-sponsored coverage. This figure is in direct opposition with President Obama's promise that if you like your current health care you can keep it.
Bankrupting our economy, strong-arming employers and employees, and tacking $1 trillion onto the federal deficit will wound businesses of all sizes, and hurt the economy and American workers.
Oppose flawed health care proposals and encourage Congress instead to commit to real reform: lowering costs, increasing quality, and expanding coverage.
Write Congress now.
