Sad, but true: The season to leave babies to die inside hot cars is underway
Even though we’re struggling to hit 60 degrees around these parts at almost mid-June, that doesn’t mean it’s not warm anywhere else.
When it gets hot, people do really stupid things. They leave babies locked inside cars. And then they leave them alone. They leave long enough to kill, yes, kill the children.
Sometimes, these neglectful dolts get off because enough dummies feel sympathy for them. They buy into the ridiculous defense that it was a mistake, that they flat out forgot they had a baby in the back seat.
It also doesn’t help when a brain dead media comes to the aid of these parents/guardians of the year. Note the following lead sentences of a recent story from the San Francisco Chronicle:

Are you kidding me? The reporter is more or less absolving the parent of any wrongdoing.
We’re going to be hearing more and more stories like this. Sympathy for the idiot adult is not in order. Reserve your sympathy for the innocent dead baby. The moron who left the baby to die needs swift and severe punishment. Anything less sends the horrible message that you can get away with this indefensible act.
2 + 2 =6 is a mistake. Leaving a baby abandoned inside a hot car is a CRIME!
