This Just In ...

Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely young daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

Former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist takes his party to task


in a column that will appear in Sunday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist and his wife, Susan Mudd blast Wisconsin Demiocrats for their attempt to gradually eradicate school choice. They write:

"Unlike congressional Democrats' efforts to outright kill Washington's choice program, in Milwaukee, the state Legislature seeks to inflict a more gradual demise. Their method is a regime of public school-style regulation meant to strangle many of the 125 private schools that participate. Opponents understand that excessive regulation will limit the promise of school choice. Now they see a chance to begin to deconstruct a program that former Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan recently called 'a genuine blessing.'

As lifelong Democrats and former Milwaukee residents, we find this shameful."
