The Franklin Common Council will now embark on the most important issue they’ll tackle all year, far more important than Boomgaard, fees for non-profit organizations, or travel and expenses for aldermen: the city budget.
I would remind every taxpayer, FranklinNOW’s John Neville, every alderman, and especially Franklin’s #1 expert on budgets (just ask him), Alderman Lyle Sohns (“I will not vote for a budget that results in a tax rate greater than $5.75 per thousand, last year’s rate”) that the tax RATE is not as significant. It’s the tax LEVY that’s most important.
