*BREAKING FRANKIN NEWS: Mayor Taylor unveils his budget proposal*
Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor has released his proposed budget for the city of Franklin. Here are some key details:
The property tax levy in the mayor's budget increases 3.002%. Mayor Taylor keeps his pledge made prior to the April election to keep his proposed budget levy increase to a maximum of 3%.
The tax rate, not as important as the tax levy, increases 1.2%.
Six full time employee positions are cut.
I will have more details when I've had a chance to further review the proposal.
The budget proposal now gets reviewed by the Franklin Common Council. Here's hoping the Council either keeps the tax levy increase at 3% or finds a way to reduce it even more.
