Fred Keller decides to leave, the editors of this website decide to censor
To say that I am l livid is an understatement.
The decision by editors of this website to delete a comment made in response by CONSERVATIVE blogger Fred Keller that resulted in Keller quitting blogging is attrocious.
When I attempted to respond on my very own blog tonight, the editors, as of this posting, refused to allow my comments to be publicized.
I will attempt again, on my very own blog.
If the editors refuse to allow this blog, I will seriously consider, as Fred Keller did, dumping my blog. The losers will be free speech, this website, and you, the readers.
Here was the response I issued earlier that was deemed unsuitable for pirnt.
Fred objects to treatment given to him by the editors of this website.
From what I have seen, I don't blame him.
Stay tuned.
I'll have more to say about this tomorrow.
I was hoping that this website would not have the same double standard that is omnipresent in the mainstream media. Apparently it does, and I am not happy.
As it is, I am upset that the editors of this website never said a word about Greg Kowalski allowing a comment to stand on his comments section calling me, a 150-times plus journalism award winner a liar without a peep of a reprimand. The lack of a fellow journalist's defense of another long-time journalist was to me, quite a disappointment.
Greg Kowalski's interpretation of the editor's analysis of the entire episode was to keep his malicious lies posted on his website. Again. The editors never said, "Boo."
The editors here have been wonderful to me. But their handling of this sensitive issue appalled me to no end.
If they are going to treat a simple comment to Fred Keller’s blog in this way, that speaks volumes. Critics can say whatever the hell they want and we are told to keep it posted, no matter what, but if we are not allowed to respond, I'm sorry, I am going to put my foot down.
I spend a great deal of personal time on these blogs. I'll be damned if I'm going to be told I can't be allowed to fight back when some stupid comment is made attacking me on my very own blog.
When I was called a liar, and it was proven to be wrong, and a blogger on this website still refused to remove the damaging comment from the blog, the editors, who know from a journalistic standpoint how sensitive I am to this issue, never intervened.Suddenly, a blogger, a conservative one at that, responds to a comment on his blog and is taken to task.
I'm sorry. I put myself in Fred Keller's shoes. Unlike the dozens of community bloggers, I am a professional journalist. If what happened to Fred Keller today happened to me, I would politely tell FranklinNOW.com to go to hell.
I am sick and tired of the double standard imposed on conservatives in the media. The people who run this website owe an apology to Fred Keller.Furthermore, if this project doesn't want to become a total bore and see readership go down the tubes, then they need to stop doing what they did today...trying to restrict the comments of a popular blogger.
