Take the shampoo but please leave the robe

Call it Catholic Guilt, but for years I felt uncomfortable using and/or taking home the hotel amenities (such as shampoo & lotion) when I was perfectly content to use the ones I’d brought myself.  There were times, however, that the quality and uniqueness of those little bottles trumped any sort of remorse.  Our Hawaiian honeymoon is a prime example.  Nowhere in the continental U.S. can you get coconut mango shower gel & body lotion.  That’s because it’s created exclusively for the Halekulani resort.  Needless to say, plenty of those little bottles made their way into my suitcase for the trip home.

Another time I was pleased to pilfer was our one and only Disney cruise.  (Yes, we’ll get on another someday.  We’d like Kyla to be just a couple years older though.)  That was the first time I’d encountered H20 products and fell in L-O-V-E with their body butter.  Somehow I “used” almost a tube a day and the housekeeping staff always generously brought more to our stateroom.

It turns out my feeling bad was unnecessary.  Apparently snatching an extra bar of soap isn’t only expected, it’s WELCOMED in the industry.
