Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
This Ten Things list is AWESOME and right on. But I can’t resist adding one more item.
That would be, “Let the wind mess up your hair when you ride your bike. WITHOUT a helmet.” While I am a proponent of car seats for youngsters and seat belts for the older kiddos, I’m not one of those head protection Nazi’s. Like the blogger, I managed to survive my late-70’s summers without helicopter parents, minute-by-minute planned activities and organic strawberries.
We also didn’t wear bike helmets as we whizzed around on our two-wheelers. My best friend recalls a biking incident (um, accident?) where she literally flipped over her handlebars as she tried to recreate an Evil Knievel stunt. No helmet (I know) and no sustained brain damage (I think.)
So here’s to a summer of the 70’s for our kiddo’s. Talk about the memories they will make! And yes, they will live to tell them to their own children.
