The Barking Lot-America's Finest Dog Blog (03/29/14)

The Barking Lot

The Barking Lot is a regular weekly feature of This Just In
Written by my lovely wife, Jennifer and me.  It opens with the weekend dog walking forecast followed by the main blog from dog lover, Jennifer. Then its DOGS IN THE NEWS and our close. Enjoy!

THE WEEKEND DOG-WALKING FORECAST: We grade the weather outlook for taking your pet outdoors.

TODAY:  Partly cloudy. High of 41.  "D"

SUNDAY:  Sunny. High of 56. "B"

Here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog:

Sure, our calendars are inching closer and closer to April.  I think the biggest prank of all would be if Mother Nature actually gave us one decent day.  Obviously complaining about The Winter That Won’t End does no one any good and can’t change a thing.  Still, don’t we deserve something other than WIND CHILLS in March?  Ug.

Readers of Ms. Elaine Kneeous know that I’m not the world’s biggest sports fan.  So in all honesty I had to ask Kevin when the Brewers Opening Day is.  I knew it was close but that was the extent of it.  What I have been aware of, however, is Hank.  You’d have to live under a rock to not know about that sweet fuzzy mascot with an amazing survival story.

While I may not be able to name a single player on the team, I can certainly appreciate what Hank has done for them from a PR perspective.  People have gone crazy for Hank and it is nice to have something positive to relate to with our Brew Crew.

And better than just the warm fuzzies, there are FUNDS being generated as well.  Portions of proceeds from Hank-related sales are benefitting the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine campuses.  I might get “Bundt” and “bunt” confused so yes, I know more about buttercream than batting averages.  That’s OK because even someone like me can hop on the Hank bandwagon with these:

It’s been a few years since I’ve attended a Brewers game.  But with a new leash on life (sorry, I couldn’t resist) perhaps this is the season I finally break down and get a bobblehank.
