It’s not often that you can cross off something from your Bucket List three times. Yes, you read correctly, three times.
A few months ago I blogged about my anti-environmental love of light bulbs and clean dishes. Now that we are approaching the Spring Cleaning season, I’ll go a step farther with my carbon carelessness and say that I love things truly clean. Than means when I prepare chicken, I choose to use an antibacterial cleanser (Lysol all purpose happens to be my fave) on a paper towel to make sure I’m not spreading Mr. Salmonella around. You can’t see the creepy crawlies just waiting to make you sick. They don’t announce themselves like this:
I recently blogged about PETA and their faux-fuzzy “love” of animals. What a joke.
I don’t care if the calendar doesn’t say it’s officially Spring. Welcome, dear birdies!
I often say that I would love to be back in the ways & times of Laura Petrie, Domestic Diva. I truly would, except for the fact that I’d have to grocery shop in a dress & high heels. That part doesn’t appeal to me too much. Getting Kyla ready is no small task as she needs to gather a blanket or two, a stuffed friend, her Disney Princess handbag, her sunglasses and a sippy cup all before we head out the door. Truthfully putting on a full face, doing my hair and dressing up all take a back seat to getting her in the back seat. If I’m doing a run to Pick ‘N Save for a quick dinner of rotisserie chicken and salad-in-a-bag the last thing I care about is if my mascara is smudged.

I’m not quite sure what started my obsession with all things British. All I know is that for most of my life I’ve been in love with Devonshire cream, Stilton cheese, “the Tube” and cobblestone streets. My favorite literary character has forever been, and will always be, Alice In Wonderland. (The REAL
“Come here, come here!” Kevin exclaimed this morning as I was watching QVC’s St. Patrick’s Day special in another room.
According to Jimmy Buffett, a pirate looks at 40. But today, this Mommy is looking at 3. I am amazed that three years have gone by so quickly. Almost every day has been a joy. I say almost because all parents know not every moment of every day is perfect. There have been a few sleepless nights; teething; bumps & bruises; meltdowns; colds & fevers. Clearly though, they have been outweighed by playing games; reading stories; giggles & laughter; smiles; cuddles & snuggles.
Kyla could EASILY eat an entire pint of strawberries in one sitting. I set her down with a bowl, and she does not emerge until she is covered in sticky red juice. During the winter, there are times I have to resort to frozen berries. She doesn’t even mind those but truly the best are the ripe, plump, juicy ones in the summer.
