Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
Pinterest is great for so many things. (Among them making you feel horribly inadequate if you don’t DIY, craft with your kids, cook & bake, and take perfect photos. Every. Single. Day.) Seriously, you know I’m addicted to Pin Boards. I’m at 55 boards and 2,229 pins as of this blog. By the end of the day that number will rise to probably 2,250 pins. At least.
One of my favorite boards is “Stuff for Kyla.” There are lots of fun ideas, tips, and bucket list items. Just yesterday I pinned my first Christmas 2013 idea. Yes, I realize it’s only August. I know I’m not the only one who thinks of holidays in advance. Just take a trip to any department store or mall… You’ll see the first hints of Christmas decorations around the time you’re merely considering getting a Halloween costume!
I don’t like rushing the seasons, but I DO like being prepared. I may not know what Christmas presents I’m buying until late November. However I enjoy planning out holiday menus and cookie trays while colored leaves are still falling from the trees. Regular readers of Ms. Elaine Kneeous will certainly remember my annual 12 Cookies of Christmas blogs.
At any rate, if you like to gather ideas and plan ahead a bit to avoid the feelings of last-minute rushing you’ll find lots of bloggers out there starting to share Christmas décor ideas, recipes, and traditions that you can start for your own family. The pin I mentioned above is about increasing your kids’ faith and gratitude at Christmas. As Kevin & I are all about teaching Kyla that Christmas is the celebration of Baby Jesus’ birth, I found the ideas in here to be uplifting and heartwarming.
Keep this one tucked away for a couple months, and before you know it the time will be right. I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.
