Here are, in my view, interesting, noteworthy columns and articles from the past week that I highly recommend (You will note that on occasion, I do not endorse the opinions of the author and may point that out. Despite my disagreements, I still feel the piece is worth a read).

The inconvenient truth about Benghazi

“The Benghazi story until now has been a jumble of factoids that didn't quite cohere, didn't produce a story that people could absorb and hold in their minds. This week that changed. Three State Department officials testifying under oath to a House committee changed it, by adding information that gave form to a growing picture. Gregory Hicks, Mark Thompson and Eric Nordstrom were authoritative and credible. You knew you were hearing the truth as they saw and experienced it. Not one of them seemed political. You had no sense of how they voted. They were professionals. They'd seen a bad thing. They came forward to tell the story. They put the lie to the idea that all questioning of Obama administration actions in Benghazi are partisan and low.

“What happened in Benghazi last Sept. 11 and 12 was terrible in every way. The genesis of the scandal? It looks to me like this..”

The RNC Benghazi attack ad that never ran

ABC News has obtained an ad the RNC made last fall and approved to air in the final weeks of the presidential campaign.”

White House Press Corps is just awful

Most journalists at these news conferences seem to throw questions to President Obama like a kid throws treats to a puppy: ‘You’re such a good president, yes you are, yes you are. Here’s a yummy question for you!’”

Why the Left hates families

“For the Left, I am the target of deepest hatred.

“For my trenchant views, expressed in this newspaper, they call me ‘insane’, ‘reactionary’, ‘racist’, a ‘Nazi’, a ‘shroudwaver’, a ‘witch’ and a ‘warmonger’.

“I have been accused of ‘unmatched depths of ignorance and bigotry’ and being the ‘queen of mean’.

“It was even suggested (in a particularly extreme spasm of hyperbole) that I eat broken bottles and kill rats with my teeth.

“This resort to crude insult against anyone who dares to challenge their shibboleths is typical of the Left.”

25 reasons to dislike liberals

"Is every liberal an immoral, nasty tempered, habitual liar who accuses people of racism for fun and trashes his own country because he thinks it makes him look sophisticated? Of course, not! On the other hand, is that a fairly accurate description of most liberals in politics? Yes, it is."

Thank you for not sharing

“Ever share too much information—and you weren't even tipsy? I call it BYB—Blabbing Your Business. It's happening a lot these days thanks to reality TV and social media sites, where it's perfectly normal for people to share every single detail of their lives, no matter how mundane or personal. In the culture we live in, it's hard to remember that some things should be private.”

Complaining is hard to do, so do it with a purpose

“Like many people, I have a love-hate relationship with complaining. There is little that is more satisfying than chewing over a meaty complaint about an idiotic service person or the really annoying thing that friend does or how unbelievably rude a teenager can be.

“On the other hand, I really dislike people who constantly whine about the same thing. Or those who come to me seemingly wanting advice but then ignore my suggestions and continue grumbling about the same
grievance.”

Happy Mother's Day to military moms

I began writing a Mother's Day note, and then realized I was writing for a million women like my mom. My message wasn't just from me, but from 2 million kids who, like me, have sent a parent off to war in the past 10 years.”
