In 2011, it was a sensational news story, and rightly so. Authorities went to an abortion mill in Philadelphia that had not been inspected for many years and discovered one of the most grisly late-term abortion practices in American history. Kermit Gosnell has been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of babies aborted alive and then intentionally killed when their spinal cords were slit. He is also charged in the death of a woman who overdosed on drugs Gosnell prescribed. In all, Gosnell has 30 criminal charges pending.
A Grand Jury was convened at the time of the discovery to determine if a crime had been committed. Its report was a scathing indictment of the horrendous conditions in the clinic, how Gosnell performed late-term abortions, what was stored in his clinic, and his mishandling of drugs.
The Grand Jury summarized this practice by noting that the killing of babies who survived late-term abortions was intentional.
“Killing really had to be part of Gosnell’s plan. His method for performing late-term abortions was to induce labor and delivery of intact fetuses, and he specialized in patients who were well beyond 24 weeks. Thus, the birth of live, viable babies was a natural and predictable consequence. The subsequent slitting of spinal cords, without any consideration for the babies’ viability, was an integral part of what Gosnell’s employees called his ‘standard procedure.’ … Gosnell’s intent to never resuscitate was obvious from his failure to employ even minimally qualified personnel or to have the equipment necessary to save the lives of newborn infants. The policy he instituted and carries out was not to try to revive live, viable babies. It was to kill them.”
Jury selection in the trial begins on March 3.

It is so tragic and hard to believe. A beautiful 29-year-old teacher died on February 7 from complications following a 33-week abortion. Jennifer McKenna Morbelli traveled from her home in New Rochelle, New York to the Maryland clinic of notorious late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart. The baby, named Madison Leigh, also died from the abortion.
An investigation has been opened by the Maryland Attorney General regarding the death of Morbelli and alleged illegal dumping by the Germantown Reproductive Health Center. The Medical Examiner’s office issued its report listing two causes for the death of Morbelli: amniotic fluid which seeped into her bloodstream and coagulation which caused “small blood clots in the blood vessels.” This resulted in “…extensive bleeding through the body.” Or, as more plainly stated by the White Plains Daily Voice headline: “White Plains Teacher Bled to Death After Abortion.”
Carhart plied his deadly tread in Nebraska for many years but moved his grisly late-term abortion practice to Maryland after Nebraska passed a law in 2010 prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks based on the ability of the baby to experience pain from abortion. Apparently Carhart still lives in Nebraska but flies into Maryland to perform the late-term abortions he has no trouble publicly acknowledging.
Let’s hope that the investigation into these deaths will shut down Carhart’s clinic.

I received an email from a former abortionist. She wanted to share her story with me and also with all of you:
“I just wanted to let you know, you’ve touched my heart. For years…too many years to count, I murdered countless children..up until 3 months ago that is. I believed I was doing what was best at the time. I worked for Planned Parenthood.
“I became hardened and cold to the fact, I was killing children. How I, a physician who had taken an oath to preserve life can perform abortions — can actually kill defenseless unborn babies — literally ripped out, many times in pieces, from the mother’s womb, is beyond me..but I see it now. Partial-birth abortions was my living. :’(
“Finally one day, something hit me…and my hard-heart began to soften. After receiving a pro-life tract, and having read it; I got angry, but I didn’t throw it away. And then for some reason, I couldn’t perform abortions anymore.
“I broke down that day and felt like I had died on the inside. Millions of emotions came at me and I had a weight of guilt, on my shoulders so heavy. So heavy, worse than any depression I’ve ever felt.
“I felt like, for every baby I had taken from this world, a part of me died as well. I cry as I write this. I cry for the mothers, the fathers..who decided because of ‘choice’ they would kill their children. I cry for the babies, who were brutally murdered at my hand. It takes a lot to admit that. A LOT.
“Where is the churches? The outreach groups? Get out there! Do something. Please! Don’t say, ‘it isn’t my field.’ Shouldn’t it be every moral person’s responsibility, to defend the defenseless? And don’t tell me pro-life outreach doesn’t work, or tracts don’t help. It certainly did for me.
“There’s not a day that goes by now, where my heart isn’t heavy with grief, or I don’t angry. I can only hope God can forgive me. If anyone deserves a hell, it’s the one who murders children.”
We are also here for this woman, this former abortionist. We are keeping the conversation open and offering healing resources to her. We are also in prayer for her…and all current and former abortion providers.
This is what we are all about…conversion. We will continue to reach out to these men and women in love. Hate doesn’t work. Condemnation doesn’t work. Judgment doesn’t work. The mercy of Christ is what WORKS. Please pray with us. Please go out to a local prayer vigil and offer real help to those inside the industry. Please send in the fliers. You are making a difference.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) is the state’s largest abortion provider and, nationally, refers over 90% of the pregnant women it sees to abortion clinics. The closure of four feeder clinics in Chippewa Falls, Shawano, Johnson Creek and Beaver Dam to Planned Parenthood’s three Wisconsin abortion clinics is excellent news.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin performed 4,827 Wisconsin abortions in 2010 (62% of all abortions). Its annual report for that year lists zero adoption referrals and zero prenatal care recipients. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and its affiliates received over $542 million in state and federal taxpayer dollars in 2011. In addition, PPFA has mandated that all of its affiliates perform abortions by 2013.
Under the leadership of Wisconsin Right to Life, PPWI lost over $1million in state taxpayer dollars in the last Wisconsin biennial budget. PPWI has stated that these budget cuts lead to the closure of the four clinics.
It is far past time for Wisconsin citizens to recognize that Planned Parenthood, through its local clinics, refers the overwhelming majority of pregnant women it sees to abortion clinics, most probably one of its own abortion clinics, where a fee is extracted from the women. This is a terrible conflict of interest. It is a good outcome for women and children that the four abortion clinic feeders are closing.
