Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful toddler daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Kevin & I had a difficult time selecting our future child’s name. We were one of the few couples who didn’t know our baby’s gender in advance, so we needed to finalize both a boy and girl name. We didn’t argue over any names, it was just tough for us to narrow down such an important choice. I insisted on only one thing: our baby’s middle name would be his mom’s or dad’s first name. It was an important tribute to them and at the time I didn’t realize how soon I’d be grateful for that decision.
Being the Capitalist that I am, I love when new businesses start up in our neck of the woods. Being the fan-of-all-foods that I am, I love when new restaurants (from quick-service to upscale) join our neighborhood. And being the traditional, conservative, Christian, family value-oriented SAHM that I am, I love when a company can combine all those qualities and decide to grace our sidewalks.

There’s not much I like about this time of year. The only upside is that my seasonal allergies hibernate like the rest of me wants to. Truly, I hate winter. But if not for arctic temperatures there is one thing I’d miss terribly: ice wine. Fortunately I don’t have to harvest those frozen orbs in order to enjoy the end result.
I have referenced my favorite Good Housekeeping baking book in past blogs. My annual 12 Cookies of Christmas series has contained recipes from it. I never realized that an “on a whim” purchase from a book club would yield such tasty results.
I had the best pregnancy and delivery of anyone I know. I felt great except for a few minor discomforts along the way. My labor & delivery process was, dare I say, simple. (Well, except for when they nearly blew out a vein with a misplaced I.V. but I digress.)
I’ve mentioned my love of and admiration for dolphins many times. I will never forget the three amazing times I’ve had a chance to interact with these awesome animals. Once you are nose-to-nose with a gentle giant you will never take them for granted again. You will consciously choose only “dolphin-safe” fish to eat. You’ll cut up your bottle rings because you think that somehow it will save a creature from entanglement. You will wonder how anyone could bring any harm to them at all. They really are fantastic beings.
Years ago, before we met our husbands, my best friend and I decided to take a “Football 101” class. Foolishly we thought two things: we would come to understand all things football in one simple tutorial and consequently be even more appealing to the opposite sex with this new found knowledge.
