Ms. Elaine Kneeous

Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. It’s not often that you can cross off something from your Bucket List three times.  Yes, you read correctly, three times.

I Guess I'm Mean Cuz I'm Not GREEN

A few months ago I blogged about my anti-environmental love of light bulbs and clean dishes.   Now that we are approaching the Spring Cleaning season, I’ll go a step farther with my carbon carelessness and say that I love things truly clean.  Than means when I prepare chicken, I choose to use an antibacterial cleanser (Lysol all purpose happens to be my fave) on a paper towel to make sure I’m not spreading Mr. Salmonella around.  You can’t see the creepy crawlies just waiting to make you sick.  They don’t announce themselves like this:

UPDATE: People Euthanizing Too many Animals

I recently blogged about PETA and their faux-fuzzy “love” of animals.  What a joke.

I don’t care if the calendar doesn’t say it’s officially Spring.  Welcome, dear birdies!

Raising A Stink to Raise Awareness

I often say that I would love to be back in the ways & times of Laura Petrie, Domestic Diva.  I truly would, except for the fact that I’d have to grocery shop in a dress & high heels.  That part doesn’t appeal to me too much.  Getting Kyla ready is no small task as she needs to gather a blanket or two, a stuffed friend, her Disney Princess handbag, her sunglasses and a sippy cup all before we head out the door.  Truthfully putting on a full face, doing my hair and dressing up all take a back seat to getting her in the back seat.  If I’m doing a run to Pick ‘N Save for a quick dinner of rotisserie chicken and salad-in-a-bag the last thing I care about is if my mascara is smudged.

Grab Your McMixer!

They say everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.  I’m glad because while I love almost everything about the culture & heritage of Ireland, I must admit I have no green blood.

Franklin High School & Pipe Bombs: A Mother's Perspective

I’m a tax-paying resident and parent in Franklin.  I would say that a status of tax-payer & parent allows me to have an opinion on Franklin Public School matters even if my daughter is not old enough to attend school yet.  Given the current administration and recent events I can honestly say that she will probably not be attending FHS in a few years.

Keep Calm and Carry On

I’m not quite sure what started my obsession with all things British.  All I know is that for most of my life I’ve been in love with Devonshire cream, Stilton cheese, “the Tube” and cobblestone streets.  My favorite literary character has forever been, and will always be, Alice In Wonderland.  (The REAL Alice, by Lewis Carroll; not some freaky recreation by Tim Burton.)

Happy Third Birthday, Kyla Audrey!

Kyla's Korner

According to Jimmy Buffett, a pirate looks at 40.  But today, this Mommy is looking at 3.  I am amazed that three years have gone by so quickly.  Almost every day has been a joy.  I say almost because all parents know not every moment of every day is perfect.  There have been a few sleepless nights; teething; bumps & bruises; meltdowns; colds & fevers.  Clearly though, they have been outweighed by playing games; reading stories; giggles & laughter; smiles; cuddles & snuggles.

Now Kyla will want to move to North Carolina...

Kyla could EASILY eat an entire pint of strawberries in one sitting.  I set her down with a bowl, and she does not emerge until she is covered in sticky red juice.  During the winter, there are times I have to resort to frozen berries.  She doesn’t even mind those but truly the best are the ripe, plump, juicy ones in the summer.

Is "Idiotic" on the list?

The PC warriors are at it again.  Oh wait.  I can’t call them “warriors,” especially in Milwaukee where we are now home to the Golden Eagles, thank you Marquette University.
