Ms. Elaine Kneeous
Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful toddler daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
The Good Book on the Big Screen
Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of anything
An Angel on a John Deere
I’ve often said I would have made a terrible pioneer woman. I don’t like braving extreme weather, I’m not a fan of physical labor, and my idea of camping is staying at a hotel doesn’t offer spa-quality, complimentary toiletries in the room. Fortunately I’ll never have to cross the plains in a covered wagon.
Because being a Princess is SO last year...
I love Halloween and figuring out costumes for Kyla. So far we’ve managed quite well despite my complete lack of sewing skills and my refusal to spend a lot on something that will be worn once.
UPDATE: An addition to Heroes Of The Week
In June, I blogged about a heartwarming and inspirational family.
My husband is no Rob Petrie
Readers of Ms. Elaine Kneeous know that I’m a huge fan of the old sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show. There are so many ways that Laura Petrie and I are kindred spirits. But Kevin, well, he’s no Rob. And I s’pose that’s a good thing. Take this situation, for example:
Ready to be a Mommy?
You will laugh. Or cry. Or laugh so hard that you cry. This is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time. Apparently a new “Are you ready to be a Mommy” test is taking Mom Blogs by storm and it’s easy to see why.
Coming Soon: Culinary Yes-Yes
Who would have thought that a simple “don’t put ketchup on a brat” would have turned in to 300 “don’t do THIS” blogs? Totally unsuspecting when he began, Kevin had no idea that one simple Father’s Day blog about smothering sausage with tomato sauce would turn into a weekly feature loved by so many.
Culinary yes-yes #1
Regular readers of Ms. Elaine Kneeous know that I love to entertain. I’ll dream up any excuse to have friends & family over just so that I can try out a new recipe or because I’ve thought of a fun theme. With the holiday season just around the corner this is my favorite part of the year. By the time I close the door to the last Trick or Treater, I’ve already planned my Thanksgiving menu, my Christmas cookie list, Super Bowl snacks and probably half of Kyla’s birthday buffet (and that’s not until March!)
It's never too early to Christmas shop
Last fall, I blogged about some really fantastic gift-giving ideas. I had no idea that I would top myself one year later.
