Itchy? No way!
Yesterday I mentioned my husband Kevin and Marilyn Monroe have something in common. Sparked your interest, did it?
The Tie That Binds
When I was planning Kyla’s baptism I wanted everything to be special. I searched for weeks to find the perfect outfit. I was going for total Laura Petrie and found a lovely floral skirt and pink sweater and topped it off with my favorite strand of pearls. As it always goes with men, all Kevin had to think about was what tie he was going to wear with his suit. Actually though, I even took care of THAT.
Facebook Funny
I’ve seen a lot of cartoons posted on Facebook that have made me chuckle. But a REAL Mommy Moment from one of my friends topped everything when I saw it this morning:
Moms Vs. Dads, Round 2
I recently blogged about how my parenting style differs from my husband Kevin.
How much do you $pend on your kids?
Leave it to
Yes, I know art is subjective, but...
Every time we go out to play (when the driveway isn’t covered with snow, that is) Kyla can be seen with this in her hand:
Happy Father's Day to all the REAL Dads
In a time when terms like “baby daddy” and “sperm donor” are common, let’s take a moment to talk about real dads. These men may or may not have genetic ties to their child/children. It doesn’t matter. I can’t speak from a Father’s perspective; only as a daughter, wife, and mother. I think, though, that the following things are almost universally true:
C'mon, you KNOW you want to sing along...
OK, this is comical. Parents, your child can be an internet star at the age of two…
You had me at "Free."
I’m a SAHM. That means I love a good bargain. What do I love MORE than a good bargain though? How ‘bout FREE stuff? Oh yeah, that’s the best. Sure, there’s the saying “There’s no such thing as a free lunch” but if you’re a savvy shopper you can score some great deals. You just have to be aware of fine print, etc. Follow some of these simple tips and you’ll be on your way to a bonus or two for your own family!
It's all about perspective
This past Tuesday morning, I woke up with a “goose egg” reaction to an insect bite. Of course it couldn’t be in an inconspicuous spot… no, it landed right between my eye brows. My first thought was, “Oh no! I have dinner plans this Thursday with girlfriends I haven’t seen in almost three years! I can’t go if I look like this!”
Celebrating our Independence
I never had the privilege of knowing my late Father-In-Law. I do know that Kevin is a chip off the old block right down to his penchant for colorful ties, Aloha shirts, and Allen Edmonds shoes. So it’s no surprise that my dear husband likes to reiterate his dad’s advice: ONCE THE 4TH OF JULY COMES, THE SUMMER IS OVER. Oh it makes me CRAZY to hear that but sadly it does seem true.
A Perfect Day, A Perfect Place
Hard to believe, but I’ve never been to
Kyla will cost HOW much????!!!!
If cost would be the main deterrent for having children, I can guarantee you the population would dwindle to nothing.
An addition to Heroes Of The Week from Week Ends
The following story could EASILY have made Kevin’s Heroes of the Week in Week Ends.
However, I saw it before my wonderful husband did and thus, I get first rights to post it.
