Thanksgiving Thoughts

Every year at this time, I start running around like a nut.  I love it, I really do.  I love all the sensory-overload aspects of the holiday season…  The Christmas lights, the Christmas songs, the spicy/sweet/savory delicious aromas that start Thanksgiving Day and don’t end until the first week of January, the first bite of turkey and nibble of Christmas cookies, even the first few snowflakes that land on me.  There is nothing quite like these next couple of months.

That’s not to say that things don’t get a little hectic for me.  I human; I get crabby.  I stay up too late and drink too much caffeine.  I compare myself to the Martha Stewart Standard far too often, only to realize at the last minute that truly nothing matters except being surrounded by family & friends.

As an avid reader of SAHM and thrifty decorating-type blogs I love getting new recipes, projects, and decorating ideas.  Occasionally I get much more than that.  Sometimes lurking in the most unassuming blog is a Life Lesson.

If you are scrambling and grumbling these next couple days in preparation for Thanksgiving you’re not alone.  If you’re wishing you had extra cash for a new living room suite, you’re not alone.  If you need a kick in the pants to remind you how fortunate you truly are, you're DEFINITELY not alone.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  Enjoy all you’ve been blessed with!
